Question 1. 
A farmer sells wheat for 2058 rupees and 25 paise and com for rupees 1154 and 50 paise. For how much money he has sold total grain?
Solution:
Cost of wheat =    2058 rupees and 25 paise
Cost of com = 1154 rupees and 50 paise
Total rupees. =    3212 rupees and 75 paise

Question 2. 
A shopkeeper went to market with 8575 rupees and 75 paise. Out of these he paid 5052 rupees and 25 paise for clothes and 2070 rupees and 25 paise for grocery . Now how much money is left with the shopkeeper ? 
Solution:
Money spent in buying clothes =    5052 rupees and 25 paise
Money spent in buying grocery = 2070 rupees and 25 paise
Total expenses =    7122 rupees and 50 paise

∵ He had rupees 8575 rupees and 75 paise
∴ Balance amount = 1453 rupees and 25 paise

Thus, he had rupees1453 rupees and 25 paise left with him.

Solve
(i) 525 rupees and 25 paise × 13    
(ii) 507 rupees and 75 paise × 16
(iii) 899 rupees and 50 paise × 17    
(iv) 726 rupees and 72 paise × 19
Solution: 
(i)

325 paise = 3 rupees and 25 paise    (∵ 300 paise = 3 rupees)
∴ 525 rupees and 25 paise × 13 = 6825 rupees and 325 paise 
= (6825 + 3) rupees and 25 paise
= 6828 rupees and 25 paise

Question 4. 
13 women of Gorela village got 35755 rupees and 20 paise for buying sewing machine under Paradhan-Mantri Swarojgar Yojana. How much money each women would have received ?
Solution: 

Thus, each women will got 2750 rupees and 40 paise.

Question 5. 
Sujal bought ५ kg of rice at the rate ४५ rupees and ५० paise per kg and 3 kg of sugar at the rate of ६० rupees and २९ paise per kg. Now he has left with २४५ rupees and paise. Find out the total money he had in the beginning.
Solution: 

Since, sujal has २४५ rupees and ६० paise left.
Let initially he had rupees a
∴ a - ३१३ rupees and ३० paise = २४५, rupees and ६० paise 
⇒ a = ३१३ rupees and ३० paise + २४५ rupees and ६० paise

Thus, Sujal had initially ५५९ rupees and ६० paise.

 

Question 6. 
Price of a shirt is ३२३ rupees and ५० paise and price of a pant is ७९० rupees and ६० paise. Find out the total price of 5 shirts and ३ pants.
Solution: 
Cost of one shirt = ३२३ rupees and ५० paise
Cost of one pant = ७९० rupees and ६० paise
Thus cost of 3 shirts = ३२३ rupees and ५० paise × ३
= ६७६ rupees and ५० paise
and cost of ५ pants = ७९० rupees and ६० paise × ५ = ३६०३ rupees and ०० paise
Thus, total cost of ३ shirt and ५ pants = ६७६ rupees and ५० paise + ३६०३ rupees and ०० paise = ४९९२ rupees and ५० paise

Question 7. 
A fruit seller went to market with 35916 rupees. From this he has paid 12763 rupees and 30 paise for apple, 13243 rupees and 30 paise for grapes and 947 rupees and 25 paise for banana. Now how much money is left with him.
Solution: 
Cost of apple = 12763 rupees and 30 paise
Cost of grapes = 13243 rupees and 30 paise 
Cost of banana = 947 rupees and 25 paise

Total cost of fruits = 26953 rupees and 85 paise 
Money he had = 35916 rupees and 00 paise - 26953 rupees and 85 paise = 8962 rupees and 15 paise 

Remaining money = 8962 rupees and 15 paise 
Thus, money left with him = 8962 rupees and 15 paise.

 

Question 8. 
Mira had rupees 20974 rupees and 80 paise, of these she had spend 10544 rupees and 40 paise and remaining amount, she equally divides between her son and daughter. How much money each will get? 
Solution: 
Meera has money = 20974 rupees and 80 paise 
She spent money = 10544 rupees and 40 paise
Remaining money = 10430 rupees and 40 paise 

Thus, money left with her 10430 rupees and 40 paise 
Dividing this amout into two parts

Thus son and daughter will got 5215 rupees and 20 paise

Question 9. 
Price of a cycle is 1075 rupees and 50 paise. What will be the price of 52 such cycles?
Solution: 
Cost of 1 cycle = 1075 rupees and 50 paise

Thus, cost of 52 cycles = 55926 rupees and 00 paise.
