→ Energy obtained from food is utilized by organisms for carrying out different living activities. We get food from plants, or animals, or both.

→ Plants of the same kind are grown and cultivated at one place, on a large scale, is called crop. Crops are of two types: Rabi and Kharif.

→ Farmer has to do the following activities for growing a crop :

  • Preparation of soil,
  • Sowing
  • Adding manure and fertilisers,
