How to write a Story (कहानी कैसे लिखें)
• कहानी, दी हुई outlines के आधार पर व उस ही क्रम में लिखें।
• कहानी सामान्यत: Past Tense में ही लिखें। कहानी का एक शीर्षक (Heading) पेज के बीचोंबीच लिखें। फिर, एक लाइन का gap छोड़कर, कहानी लिखना आरम्भ करें।
• कहानी एक या अधिक paragraphs में बना सकते हैं।
• कहानी के sentences छोटे (short), प्रभावी (effective) व grammatically correct (ग्रैमर की दृष्टि से सही) बनाएँ।
• Words की correct spellings ही लिखें।
• कहानी समाप्त होने के बाद एक लाइन छोड़कर
• कहानी का Moral (शिक्षा/सबक) लिखें।
• कहानी अच्छी Handwriting में लिखें।

Once a lion was sleeping under a tree in a forest. A mouse came there. It jumped on the lion's body. The lion woke up. He was very angry. He caught the mouse. He wanted to kill it. The mouse said, “You are the king of forest. I am very small and |weak. Please leave me. I shall help you." The lion laughed and set him free. One day the lion was caught in a net. It tried to break the net, but could not. He roared again and again. The mouse came there. It cut the net with its sharp teeth. The lion was free. He was very happy. Moral : Do good and get good.
एक शेर और एक चूहा एक बार एक जंगल में एक शेर, एक पेड़ के नीचे सो रहा था। एक चूहा वहाँ आया। वह शेर के शरीर के ऊपर कूदा। शेर जाग गया। वह बहुत क्रोधित हुआ। उसने चूहे को पकड़ लिया। वह इसे मार डालना चाहता था। चूहे ने कहा-"आप जंगल के राजा हो। मैं बहुत कमजोर और छोटा हूँ। कृपा करके मुझे छोड़ दो। मैं तुम्हारी सहायता करूँगा।" शेर हँसा और चूहे को छोड़ दिया। एक दिन वह शेर एक जाल में फंस गया। उसने जाल को तोड़ने की कोशिश की, लेकिन नहीं तोड़ सका वह बार-बार जोर से दहाड़ा। चूहा वहाँ आया। उसने अपने पैने दाँतों से जाल को काट दिया। शेर आजाद हो गया। वह बहुत प्रसन्न हुआ। शिक्षा : भलाई करो, भला होगा।

एक बार दो मित्र थे। वे एक जंगल में होकर जा रहे थे। उन्होंने एक-दूसरे की सहायता करने का वचन दिया। थोड़ी देर बाद उन्होंने एक बड़े भालू को उनकी तरफ आते हुए देखा। एक मित्र दौड़ा और एक पेड़ पर चढ़ गया। दूसरा मित्र पेड़ पर चढ़ना नहीं जानता था। वह जमीन पर लेट गया। भालू उसके पास आया। उसने उसे (मित्र को) संघा। उसने सोचा कि वह मरा हुआ था। इसलिए वह चला गया। दूसरा मित्र पेड़ पर से नीचे आ गया और पूछा-"भालू ने तुम्हारे कान में क्या कहा?" उसने कहा कि भालू ने मुझसे कहा कि झूठे मित्र पर कभी विश्वास मत करो। उसका मित्र शर्मिन्दा हुआ। शिक्षा : झूठे मित्रों पर कभी विश्वास मत करो।

एक बार एक खरगोश ने एक कछुए का उसकी धीमी गति | के लिये मजाक बनाया। कछुए ने कहा कि वह उसे दौड़ में हरा सकता है। उन्होंने दौड़ लगाने का निश्चय किया। खरगोश तेजी से दौड़ा। उसने सोचा कि कछुआ तो बहुत पीछे था। उसने नींद की झपकी ली। इस ही बीच कछुआआगे निकल गया। खरगोश देरी से जगा। वह तेजी से .दौड़ा। उसने कछुए को पहले ही गंतव्य स्थान पर पहुंचे हुए पाया खरगोश दौड़ हार गया। नैतिक शिक्षा : धीरे किन्तु निरन्तर कार्य करने वाला सफल = होता है।

भेड़िया और मेमना
एक बार एक मेमना एक नदी-किनारे पानी पी रहा था। एक भेड़िया वहाँ आया। उसने मेमने से कहा, "तुम मेरे पानी को गंदा क्यों कर रहे हो?" मेमने ने उत्तर दिया कि पानी तो भेड़िये की तरफ से मेमने की तरफ बह रहा था। भेडिया इस मेमने को मार कर खाना चाहता था। भेड़िए ने आगे कहा, "तुमने पिछले वर्ष मुझे गाली क्यों दी थी?" मेमने ने उत्तर दिया कि पिछले वर्ष तो उसका जन्म भी नहीं हुआ था। फिर भेड़िए ने कहा कि "तो फिर वह अवश्य ही तुम्हारा पिता होगा।" इसके साथ ही उसने मेमने को मार डाला और इसे खा गया। नैतिक शिक्षा : जिसकी लाठी उसकी भैंस।

एक बार एक बूढ़ा किसान था। उसके चार पुत्र थे। वे सदैव एक-दूसरे से झगड़ते रहते थे। उसने उन्हें नहीं झगड़ने की |सलाह दी, किन्तु सब व्यर्थ । एक दिन वह किसान बहुत बीमार हो गया। उसने अपने पुत्रों को साथ-साथ बुलाया। उसने उन्हें लकड़ियों का एक बंडल = दिया उसने उनसे इसे तोड़ने को कहा। कोई भी इसे नहीं -तोड़ सका। उसने इस बंडल को खोलने को कहा फिर|किसान ने अपने लड़कों को लकड़ियाँ तोड़ने को कहा। उन्होंने एक-एक करके सरलता से लकड़ियाँ तोड़ दीं। अब किसान ने अपने लड़कों से कहा-"यदि तुम लकड़ियों के बंडल की तरह इकट्ठे (संगठित) रहोगे, कोई तुम्हें नुकसान नहीं पहुँचा सकता है। यदि तुम। झगड़ोगे, कोई भी तुम्हें नुकसान पहुंचा सकता है।" उसके लड़कों ने एक शिक्षा ली। वे फिर कभी भी नहीं झगड़े। किसान प्रसन्न हुआ। शिक्षा : संगठन में शक्ति है।

He thought of a plan. He put on a cap. The monkeys did the same. He threw his cap onto the ground. The monkeys also did the same. He collected the caps and went away. He was very happy. एक बार एक टोपी विक्रेता था। वह गाँव-गाँव अपनी टोपियाँ बेचने जाता था। एक बार जब वह एक गाँव पहुँचा तो बहुत थक गया। उसने अपनी टोकरी नीचे रखी और पेड़ के नीचे सो गया। वृक्ष पर कुछ बंदर थे। बंदर नीचे आये और उसकी टोपियाँ ले गये। थोड़ी देर के पश्चात् टोपी विक्रेता जाग गया। उसे अपनी टोपियाँ नहीं मिलीं। उसने ऊपर देखा । उसने बंदरों को अपनी टोपियों के साथ देखा। उसने एक योजना सोची। उसने अपनी टोपी पहनी। बंदरों ने भी ऐसा ही किया। उसने अपनी टोपी जमीन पर फेंकी। बंदरों ने भी ऐसा ही किया। उसने टोपियाँ एकत्र की। वह चला गया। वह बहुत प्रसन्न था। शिक्षा : कभी हिम्मत मत हारो।

He refused to take it also because it was not his axe. Then the god of water brought his real axe. He asked the woodcutter to take it. He accepted it. The god was pleased with his honesty. He gave all the three axes to the woodcutter. He was very happy and thanked the god. Moral : Honesty is the best policy.
एक ईमानदार लकड़हारा
एक बार एक गरीब लकड़हारा था। वह प्रतिदिन लकड़ी काटने जाता था। एक दिन वह नदी के निकट लकड़ी काट रहा था। अचानक उसकी कुल्हाड़ी नदी में गिर गई। वह रोने लगा और सहायता के लिए चिल्लाया। जल-देवता प्रकट हुआ। वह सोने की एक कुल्हाड़ी लाया। लकड़हारे ने इसे लेने से मना कर दिया। फिर देवता चाँदी की एक कुल्हाड़ी लाया। उसने लकड़हारे से उस कुल्हाड़ी को लेने को कहा। उसने उसे भी लेने से मना कर दिया क्योंकि वह उसकी कुल्हाड़ी नहीं थी। फिर जल-देवता उसकी असली कुल्हाड़ी लाया। उसने लकड़हारे से इसे लेने के लिये कहा। उसने इसे ले ली। जल-देवता उसकी ईमानदारी पर बहुत खुश हुए। उसने तीनों कुल्हाड़ियाँ उसे दे दीं। वह बहुत प्रसन्न हुआ और देवता को धन्यवाद दिया। शिक्षा : ईमानदारी सबसे अच्छी नीति है।
