We made ourselves comfortable during hot summers and cold winters by eating seasonable fruits and food. In summers, we used to take buttermilk, mango juice, curd, sattu, watermelon, etc. Playing under the trees or in the house enjoying with cousins. In winters, we used to sit under sun and eat peanuts and things made from jaggery, drink hot ginger tea, etc.

Give reasons :
(i) Man modifies his environment.
Answer: 
Humans modify or alter environment according to their needs and make their life comfortable. For example, early humans adapted themselves to the natural surroundings. They lived a simple life, and fulfilled their needs from the nature around them (by hunting, eating fruits, living on trees and in caves, etc).

(ii) Plants and animals depend on each other.
Answer: 
Animals inhale oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide. This carbon dioxide is used by plants in the process of photosynthesis to prepare food. In this process, plants release oxygen which is used by human beings and animals. Thus, animals and human beings help each other in the exchange of gases. Plants depend on animals for nutrients, pollination and seed dispersal, whereas plants are eaten by animals as food.
