Answer: 
The water we use in our home or school come from water works, groundwater or from a surface-water source such as river, lake, or reservoir.
The list of different uses of water in our daily life are:

1. Drinking, bathing, washing etc,
2. Watering plants,
3. Cooking food,
4. Cleaning floors, cars, etc.

Answer: 
When our neighbour elders were of our age, theše were neem, peepal,jamun and banyan tree around them.

(ii) The Indoor game he/she played.
Answer: 
The indoor games we played were ludo/ snakes-n-ladder, carom, table-tennis, chess etc.

(iii) His/her favourite fruit at your at your age. 
Answer:  
Few of the favourite fruits were Mango, Jamun, Banana, Apple, Guava, Papaya, etc.

(iv) How did they make themselves comfortable during hot summers and cold winters?
Answer: 
We made ourselves comfortable during hot summers and cold winters by eating seasonable fruits and food. In summers, we used to take buttermilk, mango juice, curd, sattu, watermelon, etc. Playing under the trees or in the house enjoying with cousins. In winters, we used to sit under sun and eat peanuts and things made from jaggery, drink hot ginger tea, etc.

Answer: 
Lithosphere is the solid crust of the earth’s outer surface which is reachable to humans Rocks and soil, forms the essential part of lithosphere.

(vi) Which are the two major components of the biotic environment?
Answer: 
The two major components of the biotic environment are plants and animals.

(vii) What is biosphere?
Answer: 
Biosphere is a narrow zone of the earth where land, water and air interact with each other to support life. Thus, plant and animal kingdom together make biosphere (i.e.) the living world.

Give reasons :
(i) Man modifies his environment.
Answer: 
Humans modify or alter environment according to their needs and make their life comfortable. For example, early humans adapted themselves to the natural surroundings. They lived a simple life, and fulfilled their needs from the nature around them (by hunting, eating fruits, living on trees and in caves, etc).

(ii) Plants and animals depend on each other.
Answer: 
Animals inhale oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide. This carbon dioxide is used by plants in the process of photosynthesis to prepare food. In this process, plants release oxygen which is used by human beings and animals. Thus, animals and human beings help each other in the exchange of gases. Plants depend on animals for nutrients, pollination and seed dispersal, whereas plants are eaten by animals as food.
