→ Gender perception (Gender): By gender perception we mean the many social values and stereotypes that our culture has associated with the biological difference between our femininity and masculinity.
This word also helps us understand many inequalities and the power relations between men and women.

• Being a boy or a girl is an important identity of anyone.
• Society gives importance to men and women in different ways. On this basis, their work practices are differentiated and the roles of women are given less importance than men.
• This inequality in the work done by men and women is due to the following reasons:
  • Do not consider domestic work important,
  • Low wages for domestic work
  • These tasks take long time to complete.

→ Women’s Work and Equality

• Giving less importance to women’s domestic work is not a matter of a person or a family. It is part of a larger social system of inequality between women and men. Therefore, to solve this, work should be done at the family level as well as at the government level.
• According to the constitution, discrimination cannot be done on the basis of gender. But in reality gender discrimination exist.
• Females have to take care of children and household works. That is why the government has opened anganwadis and kindergartens.
• The government has provided the facility to women and school going girls by making a law to provide mandatory kindergarten facility.
