“I'appears in the very beginning of this long story. This “I' is telling its own story. This 'l' does not stand for any human being; but here this 'l' stands for a tiger. When this tiger is relating his story, he is in a zoo. He lives in a corner of the zoo. This particular area was fixed as an abode for him.

Both of them lived far away in a forest where there was a cave near a stream of water. The hermit awakened his inner soul and now he understands everything much in the similar way as any man can do. Among the crowds in the zoo he misses his master deeply. He madly hopes that his master may suddenly appear out of a crowd, open the door of the cage and command, “Come out, let us go”.

Now he thinks that she would live for ever to look after him. This is a natural delusion which affects all creatures, including human beings.

What we have is to be separated. Separation is the keynote of life. The tiger was a cub. He was happy and protected in the care of his mother. But one evening she just vanished from the life of the tiger. He was panicked and hid himself in the cave, and survived somehow. This was the first separation in his life.

The tiger was a cub and he was happy in the protection of his mother. But one evening the mother did not return. The cub was left separated for ever. He was filled with panic and hid himself in the cave. When he came out, he was chased, knocked down and hurt by bigger animals. The other animals also frightened him. He remained hungry for some days. Then he started catching weaker animals such as rabbits, foxcubs and squirrels. In this way he survived somehow.

In due course of time, the tiger attained his full youth. Now he was not afraid of anyone. But it was he who aroused fear in others. He was utterly wild and full of violence. All the other animals were weaker before him and he was thoughtlessly cruel to them. He did not give any value even to those who showed politeness before him. He gave fatal blow to all, and strode around as the king of the forest. Such was his wild glory.

He thought who made the lion the king of the forest. Then he himself answered that it might be some fable writer because he must have got impressed by seeing his pompous mane and beard. He also thought that the lion is a very lazy animal. When he is fully fed, he remains lying for some days. He does not want to move a muscle, other animals can easily play on him. Once when he was in circus, he found a chance to test his strength. The lion fled into a cage and thanked God for the damage of only one ear.

The tiger had become so large and so full full of youthful energy and so violent that every creature in the jungle trembled when it sensed his approach. The tiger thought with pride that they should tremble because they should understand who was the lord of that forest.

Certainly, the jungle beasts can communicate their feelings to other animals. But they do not use words in the same way as human beings do. They can express the feelings of sympathy, warning, abuse, irony, insult, love and hatred but only when necessary.

This shows that man thinks less and speaks more and he does not do so much work as he speaks. He only goes on speaking unnecessarily.

Everyone accepted the superiority of the tiger. Later in life ‘my master? explained that nearly everyone bows down before the power of violence. This concept goes true even among human beings. Power is revered and weakness trampled.

The tiger was arrogant in his power. Once in his recklessness the tiger tried to toss the porcupine about. But he received the stabs of the quills over his nose, jaws and paws very severely. He was so badly injured that he ran back to his cave for safety and fell down there. He remained lying there for several days and it seemed to him that he would soon be dead.

The tiger thought that the monkeys were mischievous animals. They lived at a height in trees and ran about as they pleased. They also jumped from one tree to another. At many times they tried to damage the authority of the tiger.

कैप्टन सुबह पाँच बजे अपना बिस्तर छोड़ देता था और अपने सर्कस के परिसर में निरीक्षण के लिये निकल जाता था। वह पूर्वी छोर पर स्थित हाथी, ऊँट और जिराफ़ों से शुरू हो जाता था। वह अपने जानवरों के स्वास्थ्य और खैरियत के बारे में देखरेख करता था। अगर कोई जानवर बीमार पाया जाता था तो वह तुरंत आनन्द को डॉक्टर के पास भेजता था। अन्त में वह छोटे जानवरों का निरीक्षण करता था। इसके बाद वह अपने कार्यालय पर पहुँच जाता था। वह अपने निरीक्षणों, सुझावों और पिंजड़ों में स्वच्छता के बारे में लिखता था। इसके बाद वह चाय या नाश्ता अपनी पत्नी के साथ करता था।

पहले कैप्टन ने गाँव वालों से कहा कि उन्हें उसे यह दिखाना होगा कि बाघ कहाँ रहता है। परन्तु वे उसे बाघ की कोई संतोषजनक स्थिति नहीं बता पाये। इसके बाद उसने वन रक्षकों से सम्पर्क किया और बाघ की सूचना देने के लिये उसने उन्हें पैसा दिया। वह अपनी तलाश में जंगल में इधर-उधर गया। अन्त में वह उस छोटी सी नदी के पास पहुँचा। उस नदी के दूसरी ओर गुफा थी। वह एक पेड़ की डाल पर बैठ गया और वन रक्षकों के साथ पूरी रात वहाँ प्रतीक्षा की। अन्त में अपनी गुफा की ओर लौटते हुये बाघ की उसे एक झलक प्राप्त हो गई।

Many efforts were made to trap the tiger. But he was always cautious and avoided all the traps laid for him. Finally he could not avoid the temptation of a goat and that proved to be the end of his forest life. One evening when he came out of his cave and he was passing through the long grass, he heard a bleating. He saw a goat in front of him. He hesitated for a moment and looked about. Then he took a jump and landed on the back of the goat. Just then he heard a strange clattering noise. An iron cage came down and he was trapped in it.

उस बाघ को फँसाने के लिये बहुत से प्रयत्न किये गये थे। लेकिन वह हमेशा सावधान रहता था और अपने लिये बिछाये गये सभी जालों से बचता रहता था। अन्त में वह एक बकरी के लालच से नहीं बच पाया और यही बात उसके जंगल के जीवन को समाप्त करने वाली सिद्ध हुई। एक शाम को जब वह अपनी गुफा से बाहर आया और वह लम्बी-लम्बी घास में से होकर गुजर रहा था तो उसने बकरी के मिमियाने की आवाज को सुना। उसने अपने सामने एक बकरी को देखा। वह एक पल के लिये हिचकिचाया और उसने इधर-उधर देखा। इसके बाद उसने उछाल मारी और बकरी की पीठ पर सवार हो गया। ठीक इसी समय उसने एक अजीब खड़खड़ाहट का शोर सुना। एक लोहे का पिंजड़ा नीचे आया और वह उसमें फँस गया।

वह बैलगाड़ी अपने पिंजड़े और उसके अन्दर उस बाघ को लिये हुये सर्कस के परिसर में पहँच गई थी। बाघ को यह कुछ पता नहीं था कि वह कहाँ है। उसे केवल बहुत बातचीत, चीखना-चिल्लाना और बाहर की बहुत हलचल सुनाई दे रही थी। फिर पर्दो को हटाया गया और बाघ ने अपने सामने एक नया संसार देखा। वहाँ जमीन का विस्तार था परन्तु पेड़-पौधे या चट्टानों या लम्बी-लम्बी घास या बाँस के झुरमुट या झाड़ियाँ वहाँ पर नहीं थीं। उसने तम्बुओं को देखा और जमीन ऐसे प्राणियों से भरपूर थी जो दो पैरों पर चल-फिर रहे थे। उसने मानव प्राणियों की ऐसी भीड़ को पहले कभी नहीं देखा था।

सर्कस के अहाते में बाघ को एक पिंजड़े में कैद कर दिया गया था। वहाँ उसे भोजन नहीं मिला। तीन दिनों तक उसे भूख नहीं लगी। लेकिन चौथे दिन उसे भूख की चुभन हुई और उसे यह नहीं मालूम था कि वहाँ पर वह अपनी भूख को कैसे शान्त करे। पिंजड़े में उसे स्वतन्त्र रूप से घूमने का कोई अवसर नहीं था। उस छोटे से स्थान पर वह केवल लेट सकता था और फिर उठ सकता था और वह इस कार्य को फिर दुबारा से
दोहरा सकता था और गोल-गोल घूम सकता था। उसे वहाँ बहुत सूनापन भी महसूस होता था। इस प्रकार से वह सूनापन, गतिहीनता और भूख से पीड़ित हो रहा था।

Later in life the hermit told the tiger that he was leading a hellish life imprisoned in the iron cage. Perhaps it might be the result of some of his actions in the previous life. One has to face the reaction of every act, if not in the same life, at least in another life or a series of lives. There can be no escape from it. People follow their inclinations and sooner or later find their reward or retribution. This is the natural law of life.

बाद के जीवन में उस महात्मा ने बाघ को बताया था कि लोहे के पिंजड़े में कैद होकर वह एक नरक जैसा जीवन बिता रहा था। शायद यह उसके पिछले जीवन के कुछ कार्यों का परिणाम हो सकता है। किसी भी व्यक्ति को अपने प्रत्येक कार्य की प्रतिक्रिया का सामना करना पड़ता है, यह यदि उसी जीवन में न हुआ तो कम से कम किसी दूसरे जीवन में या आने वाले कई जीवनों में होता है। इसमें कोई बचाव नहीं है। लोग अपनी प्रवृत्ति के अनुसार कार्य करते हैं और देर या सवेर से उन कार्यों का पुरष्कार या दण्ड प्राप्त करते हैं। यह जीवन का स्वाभाविक नियम है।

कई दिनों तक बाघ को बिना भोजन और पानी के रखा गया। वह अपनी सारी ताकत खो चुका था और वह मुश्किल से खड़ा हो पाता था। वह अपने पिंजड़े में ज्यादा चल-फिर नहीं पाता था। उसकी दशा एक मृत शरीर की दशा के समान हो गई थी। ऐसी दशा में उसके पिंजड़े को वहाँ से हटाया गया और दरवाजे को खोल दिया गया। उसने अपने आपको एक बड़े से आहाते में पाया।

बाघ ने यह क्यों कहा-“मैं उसका सम्मान करने लगा था"?
Answer:
On the first day of his training, the tiger learnt running round and round in the enclosure at captain's command. On the coming days, as the door of the cage was opened and the whip was flourished, he started running round and round. Then he came back to the cage. He found it cleaned and washed and with food kept for him. He liked this very much. He had nothing more to do and rested for the day. That is why the tiger said—“I began to respect captain and a sort of worshipful attitude was developing in me."

अपने प्रशिक्षण के पहले दिन बाघ ने कैप्टन के आदेश पर उस बड़े से आहाते में गोल-गोल दौड़ना सीख लिया था। आने वाले दिनों में जैसे ही पिंजड़े का दरवाजा खोला जाता था और जैसे ही कोड़ा लहराया जाता था वैसे ही वह गोल-गोल दौड़ना शुरू कर देता था। फिर वह वापस पिंजड़े में आता था। वह उसे साफ-सुथरा, धुला हुआ
और उसमें अपने लिये रखा हुआ भोजन पाता था। उसे यह बहुत पसन्द आया। उसे और अधिक कुछ नहीं करना पड़ता था और दिन भर के लिये वह आराम करता था। इसीलिये बाघ ने कहा-"मैं कैप्टन का सम्मान करने लगा था और मेरे अन्दर एक प्रकार की पूजा से भरी हुई भावना विकसित हो रही थी।"

The tiger had become an adept at running. So the next stage of the training started. He started running. But he found hurdles kept in his passage. He checked his pace. Captain cried, “Jump! Go on, jump!” and the whip came lashing on him. So the tiger said—“All the good feelings I had developed for captain seemed to be lost.”

बाघ दौड़ने में कुशल हो गया था। इसलिये प्रशिक्षण का अगला स्तर शुरू हो गया। उसने दौड़ना शुरू किया। लेकिन उसने अपने रास्ते में बाधाओं को रखा हुआ पाया। उसने अपनी गति को रोक लिया। कैप्टन चिल्लाया, "कूदो! आगे बढ़ो, कूदो!" और उसने कोड़ा उसके ऊपर बरसाया । इसलिये बाघ ने कहा-"मैंने कैप्टन के लिये जितनी भी अच्छी भावनायें बनाईं थीं वे सब समाप्त होती हुई सी प्रतीत हो रही थीं।"

In the second stage of training the whip came lashing on the tiger. He felt infuriated at the lashing and felt like jumping on him but he stopped because there was the terrible chair. The chair served like a shield for captain. The tiger's paws could only hit the chair and captain constantly poked at his face with it. So the chair made it impossible for him to approach captain while his whip could reach the tiger all over. So the chair looked terrible to him.

प्रशिक्षण के दूसरे स्तर में कोड़ा लहराता हुआ बाघ पर पड़ा, वह कोड़े की इस मार पर क्रोधावेशित हो उठा और उसे लगा कि वह उस पर झपट पड़ेगा लेकिन वह रुक गया क्योंकि वहाँ पर वह भयंकर कुर्सी थी। कुर्सी कैप्टन के लिये ढाल की तरह काम करती थी। बाघ के पंजे केवल कुर्सी पर ही चोट कर पाते थे और कैप्टन लगातार उस कुर्सी से उसके चेहरे को कौंचता था। इस प्रकार से कुर्सी ने उसे कैप्टन तक पहुँचना असम्भव कर दिया था जबकि उसके कोड़े बाघ के पूरे शरीर पर पड़ सकते थे। इसलिये वह कुर्सी उसे भयंकर लगती थी।

Captain did not allow him to come back from the fire. He blocked all his movements with his men. All were shielded with chair and the whip could easily reach the tiger. He was in desperation, panic and fury. But he had to pass through this fire. For the first time his belly was singed but in course of time he could pass without touching the flames.

बाघ को एक नया प्रशिक्षण दिया जाना था। बाघ ने आग को देखा और वह पीछे हटा। उसने सोचा कि आग उसे मार डालेगी। इसलिए वह आग के पास नहीं जायेगा। स्वाभाविक रूप से कोड़ा उस पर पड़ा। कैप्टन ने उसे आग से पीछे नहीं हटने दिया। उसने अपने लोगों की सहायता से उसकी सारी गतिविधियों को रोक दिया। सब लोग कुर्सी से सुरक्षित थे और कोड़ा आसानी से बाघ तक पहुँच सकता था। वह हताशा, भय और क्रोध में था। परन्तु उसे इस आग से होकर निकलना था। पहली बार में उसका पेट झुलस गया था लेकिन समय बीतने के साथ वह ज्वालाओं को छुए बिना उससे आसानी से निकल जाता था।

It was a film-maker who became interested in the tiger. He was among the spectators who watched how the tiger killed the goat during the Jubilee show. His name was Madhusudan, cine-Director and producer and often called Madan. He was inspired by the goat killing act in the circus that day and wrote the outline of the story in which Raja (the tiger was given this name) would be the main feature. He wanted to hire Raja for his film story.

यह एक फिल्म बनाने वाला व्यक्ति था जिसे बाघ में रुचि पैदा हो गई थी। वह उन दर्शकों में से था जिन्होंने जुबली शो के समय देखा था कि किस प्रकार से बाघ ने बकरी को मार दिया था। उसका नाम फिल्म निदेशक और निर्माता मधुसूदन था और प्रायः मदन कहलाता था। वह उस दिन के सर्कस में बकरी के मारे जाने वाले कार्य से प्रेरित हो गया था और उसने एक कहानी की रूपरेखा को लिखा था जिसमें राजा (बाघ को यह नाम दिया गया था) का महत्त्वपूर्ण भाग होता। वह राजा को अपनी फिल्मी कहानी के लिये किराये पर लेना चाहता था।

वह बाघ और वह साधु मैम्पी पर्वत श्रृंखला की तलहटी में पहुँच गये। साधु ने ऊपर बहुत ऊंचाई पर एक चोटी को देखा और कहा कि यही उनका घर होगा। उसने उस स्थान को ढूँढ़ लिया। वहाँ एक बड़ी चट्टान थी जो एक परिपूर्ण आश्रय बनाती थी। साधु ने कुछ टहनियों को तोड़ा और फसे को साफ किया। उसने कहा कि वे वहीं रहेंगे।

Question 61. 
What things did he learn and what not from the hermit? 
साधु से उसने किन-किन बातों को सीख लिया था और उसने क्या नहीं सीखा था?
Answer:
The tiger learnt a great deal from the hermit. He understood the world in which he lived. He learnt to feel and express his thoughts. But one thing he could not know was the art of counting. Numbers and figures were still beyond his grasp.

बाघ ने साधु से बहुत कुछ सीखा था। उसने उस संसार के बारे में समझा था जिसमें वह रह रहा था। उसने अनुभव करना सीख लिया और अपने विचारों को व्यक्त करना सीख लिया था। लेकिन एक चीज जिसे वह नहीं जान पाया था वह था गिनने की कला। संख्या और आँकड़े उसकी समझ से अभी भी बाहर थे।

Knowledge like food must be taken within limits. Why? 
"भोजन की तरह ज्ञान भी सीमाओं के अन्दर ही रखना चाहिये।" ऐसा क्यों है?
Answer:
The hermit told the tiger that he had no need of counting. This habit has made human life miserable in many ways. He remains thinking over future and brooding on past. He does not appreciate the present living moment. He remains waiting for the one and sighing for the other and losing the pleasure of the present. It would be an unnecessary knowledge if the tiger wanted to know what he was. Knowledge, like food, must be taken within limits. Knowledge, facts and information of the past are the impediments in the path of the rising soul.

साधु ने बाघ से कहा कि उसे गिनती जानने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है। इस आदत ने मानव जीवन को बहुत प्रकार से दुःखमय बना दिया है। वह भविष्य के ऊपर सोचता रहता है और बीते समय का चिन्तन करता रहता है। वह वर्तमान के जीवित क्षणों की प्रशंसा नहीं करता है। वह एक के लिये प्रतीक्षा करता रहता है और दूसरे के लिये आहें भरता रहता है और वर्तमान के आनन्द को खोता रहता है। यदि बाघ यह जानना चाहे कि वह क्या था तो यह एक अनावश्यक ज्ञान होगा। भोजन की तरह ज्ञान भी सीमाओं के अन्दर ही रहना चाहिये। बीते हुये समय का ज्ञान, तथ्य और सूचना उत्थान को प्राप्त करती हुई आत्मा के मार्ग में अवरोध हैं।

Who was the visitor that came alone? 
वह आगन्तुक कौन था जो अकेला आया था?
Answer:
Once again the hermit saw that a visitor was coming to him. He asked the tiger to go and hide himself. Soon the visitor arrived. It was a lady. She was grey haired and not attractive. She prostrated before the hermit. She said that she had heard of a wonderful man who was moving with a tiger. She thought that this man could help her in her search. Actually this woman was the wife of this hermit and she was searching for him.

एक बार फिर दुबारा उस साधु ने देखा कि कोई आगन्तुक उसके पास आ रहा है। उसने बाघ से जाने के लिये और अपने आपको छिपाने के लिये कहा। शीघ्र ही वह आगन्तुक आ गया। वह एक महिला थी। उसके बाल भूरे थे और वह आकर्षक नहीं थी। उसने साधु के सामने साष्टांग प्रणाम किया। वह बोली कि उसने किसी एक अद्भुत मनुष्य के बारे में सुना है जो एक बाघ के साथ में घूम रहा है। उसने सोचा कि यह आदमी उसकी अपनी खोज में उसकी सहायता कर सकता है। वास्तविक रूप से यह स्त्री इस साधु की पत्नी थी और वह उसी को तलाश रही थी।

Question 64. 
What risk did this woman take to reach here in the forest? 
जंगल में यहाँ तक पहुँचने के लिये इस स्त्री ने क्या खतरा उठाया था?
Answer:
The hermit said that she had taken great risk to meet the sadhu and he might be a fake. Then her virtue might also be in danger. She said that the sadhu being fake might be true. But as far as her virtue, it is quite safe. After all she was aged, grey haired and her condition was not good. But some people robbed her of the money, her chain and her bangles and her bundle of clothes too.

साधु ने कहा कि उसने उस साधु से मिलने के लिये बड़ा खतरा उठाया है और वह साधु ढोंगी भी हो सकता है। फिर इसके बाद उसकी पवित्रता भी खतरे में हो सकती थी। उसने कहा कि साधु के ढोंगी होने की बात सच हो सकती है। लेकिन जहाँ तक उसकी पवित्रता की बात है, वह पूरे तरीके से सुरक्षित है। कुल मिलाकर वह उम्रदराज थी, भूरे बालों वाली थी और उसकी हालत अच्छी नहीं थी। लेकिन कुछ लोगों ने उसके पैसे लूट लिये, उसकी जंजीर और उसकी चूड़ियाँ और उसके कपड़ों के गट्ठर को भी लूट लिया।

When the woman was travelling in the forest searching for the hermit, there came three robbers. They robbed her of her money, her chain and her bangles and her bundle of clothes too. They did this heinous work but it was no worse than the man who left his family and home for no reason. So she calls the robbers good men.

जब वह स्त्री जंगल में से होकर यात्रा कर रही थी और उस साधु को तलाश रही थी, तो तीन लुटेरे आये। उन्होंने उससे उसके पैसे छीन लिये, उसकी जंजीर और उसकी चूड़ियाँ और उसके कपड़ों की गठरी भी लूट ली। उन्होंने यह घृणित कार्य किया लेकिन वे उस आदमी से अधिक बुरे नहीं थे जिसने बिना किसी कारण के अपना घर और परिवार छोड़ दिया। इसलिये वह उन लुटेरों को अच्छे आदमी कहती है।

Answer:
The woman said that the tiger was in the school. She went there with a neighbour who was searching for her son. The crowd was running back and forth. She got separated from her friend. Later when they met, she told her that there was a bare bodied sadhu who said that the tiger was locked in the room and her son must be safe with other children in the school hall. There was only one sadhu in that place and he was offering to lead away the tiger. So she knew that this hermit could help her in her search for her husband.

उस स्त्री ने कहा कि बाघ स्कूल में था। वह अपनी एक पड़ोसन के साथ वहाँ गई थी जो अपने बेटे को खोज रही थी। भीड़ आगे-पीछे दौड़ रही थी। वह अपनी सहेली से अलग हो गई थी। बाद में जब वे मिलीं तो उसने उसे बताया कि वहाँ एक नग्न बदन साधु था जिसने कहा था कि बाघ कमरे में तालाबन्द है और उसका बेटा दूसरे बच्चों के साथ स्कूल के हॉल में सुरक्षित होगा। उस स्थान पर केवल एक ही साधु था और वह बाघ को अपने साथ ले जाने के लिये कह रहा था। इसलिये उसने समझ लिया कि यह साधु उसकी अपने पति की तलाश में सहायता कर सकता है।।

What particular habit of the hermit made her come here in the forest? 
उस साधु की किस विशेष आदत के कारण वह इस जंगल में यहाँ आई थी?
Answer:
She was told by her friend of a particular habit of the hermit which made her think. She said that the hermit was in the habit of rubbing his fingers across his brows while thinking. It was true that the hermit was still moving his fingers across his brows. She remembered that her husband was also in the same habit, this made her come here in the forest.

उसे उसकी सहेली के द्वारा उस साधु की एक विशेष आदत के बारे में बताया गया था जिसके कारण वह सोचने लगी थी। उसने कहा था कि जिस समय वह साधु कुछ सोच रहा होता था उस समय उस साधु की यह आदत थी कि वह अपनी भौंहों के आर-पार अपनी अंगुलियों को रगड़ रहा होता था। यह सच था कि यह साधु अभी भी अपनी अंगुलियों को अपनी भौंहों पर फिरा रहा था। उसे याद आया कि उसके पति की भी यही आदत थी। इसी कारण से वह यहाँ इस जंगल में आई थी।

What goes to ascertain her that the same hermit was her husband? 
कौन सी बात उसे यह सुनिश्चित कराती है कि वह साधु उसका पति है?
Answer:
The woman said that her friend had noticed a peculiar habit in the Sadhu. He rubbed his fingers on his brows and he was still doing so. The mention of this habit disturbed the peaceful balance of the hermit's mind. But he controlled himself and accepted that it was his habit. By now the woman fully recognized that the same hermit was her husband. Then she related some of his day to day behaviour and how she tolerated every thing.

उस स्त्री ने कहा कि उसकी सहेली ने उस साधु में एक विशेष आदत देखी थी। वह अपनी अंगुलियों को अपनी भौंहों पर रगड़ता था और वह साधु अब भी ऐसा ही कर रहा था। इस आदत के उल्लेख ने उस साधु के मस्तिष्क के शान्त सन्तुलन को व्यथित कर दिया था। लेकिन उसने अपने ऊपर नियन्त्रण किया और यह स्वीकार किया कि यह उसकी आदत है। अब तक वह स्त्री पूरे तरीके से पहचान चुकी थी कि वही साधु उसका पति है। इसके बाद उसने उसके दिन-प्रतिदिन के व्यवहार की कुछ बातें और बताईं और यह भी बताया कि कैसे उसने सब कुछ सहन किया।

Answer:
By now it had become clear that the hermit was the husband of this woman. The hermit said that her husband left home not out of anger but out of some inner change. He further said that it was time for her to depart and he would take her down. She requested him to come back with her. She was ready to accept him as he was. She only wanted to have her husband with her at home or else she would like to stay there with him. She wept and desired to live with him but the hermit calmly rejected all her request.

अब तक यह स्पष्ट हो चुका था कि वह साधु उस स्त्री का पति था। साधु ने कहा कि उसके पति ने घर क्रोध में आकर नहीं छोड़ा था बल्कि कुछ आन्तरिक परिवर्तन के कारण छोड़ा था। उसने और आगे कहा कि अब उसके जाने का समय हो गया है और वह उसे नीचे तक छोड़ आयेगा। उसने उससे प्रार्थना की कि वह उसके साथ वापस घर लौट चले। वह जिस स्वरूप में है उसे वह उसी स्वरूप में स्वीकार करने के लिये तैयार थी। वह केवल यह चाहती थी कि घर पर उसके पास उसका पति हो नहीं तो वह भी उसके साथ वहाँ रुकना पसन्द करेगी। वह रोई और उसने उसके साथ रहने की इच्छा दिखाई । परन्तु उस साधु ने शान्त भाव से उसकी सारी प्रार्थना को अस्वीकार कर दिया।

Answer:
The woman proved that the hermit was her husband and she wanted to take her back home. He said that he left home not out of anger but out of some inner change. The hermit said that he had neither any past nor any future. He had gone through much hardship to attain that position. Now he could not think of going back. She could not persuade the hermit to go back. Then she wiped her tears, turned round and hurried down the hill and disappeared into the jungle.

उस स्त्री ने यह सिद्ध कर दिया कि वह साधु उसका पति है और वह उसको घर वापस ले जाना चाहती थी। उसने कहा कि उसने किसी के क्रोध के कारण घर नहीं छोड़ा बल्कि यह कुछ आन्तरिक परिवर्तन था। उस साधु ने कहा कि उसका न कोई भूतकाल है और न ही कोई भविष्यकाल है। इस स्थिति को प्राप्त करने के लिये उसने बहुत कठिनाई उठाई है। अब वह वापस जाने के बारे में नहीं सोच सकता है। वह उस साधु को वापस

अन्त में उस साधु ने अपने आखिरी दार्शनिक विचार का उपदेश दिया, "कोई भी सम्बन्ध, मानवीय हो या कोई दूसरा हो, या किसी भी प्रकार की कोई भी संगति हमेशा के लिये स्थाई नहीं रह सकती है। अलगाव हो जाना माँ के गर्भ के समय से ही जीवन का एक नियम है। जिस व्यक्ति को भी भगवान की योजनाओं के अनुसार रहना है उसे यह स्वीकार करना होगा।" ।

As told by the hermit, a visitor came from the town. He looked a kindly person. He had come with a companion and a cage on the wheels. This man was fearless and used to the company of animals. He had sympathy and he was not like captain. He took permission from the hermit and patted the back of the tiger. The tiger felt that he was a friend.

जैसा कि उस साधु के द्वारा बताया गया था, एक आगन्तुक शहर से आया। वह एक दयावान व्यक्ति दिखलाई पड़ता था। वह एक सहयोगी और गाड़ी पर रखे एक पिंजड़े के साथ आया था। वह निर्भीक था और उसे पशुओं की संगति में रहने का अभ्यास था। उसे सहानुभूति थी और वह कैप्टन के समान नहीं था। उसने साधु से अनुमति ली और बाघ की पीठ थपथपाई । बाघ ने महसूस किया कि वह एक मित्र है।

At the desire of the hermit, Raja was going in a cage on the wheels. He was going to enter a new life in the zoo. Men, women and children would come to see him and he would make them happy.

उस साधु की इच्छा के अनुसार राजा गाड़ी में रखे हुये एक पिंजड़े में जा रहा था। वह चिड़ियाघर में एक नया जीवन शुरू करने जा रहा था। पुरुष, स्त्रियाँ और बच्चे उसे देखने के लिये आया करेंगे और वह उन सबको खुश किया करेगा।
