  • am x an = am+n
  • \(\frac{a^{m}}{a^{n}}\) = am-n
  • (am)n = amn
  • am × bm = (ab)m
  • \(\frac{a^{m}}{b^{m}}=\left(\frac{a}{b}\right)^{m}\)
  • a-m = \(\frac{1}{a^{m}}\); for any non-zero integer.
  • a° = 1 (a ≠ 0)
  • (- 1)p = 1 for any even integer p and (- 1)p = - 1 for any odd integer p.
