Sound का अर्थ है - ध्वनि। इस प्रकार के प्रश्न में चार शब्द (a), (b), (c), (d) के अन्तर्गत दिए जाते हैं। प्रत्येक शब्द में एक अथवा दो अक्षर रेखांकित होते हैं। इन चार शब्दों में से एक शब्द के रेखांकित अक्षर अथवा अक्षरों की ध्वनि, शेष तीन शब्दों के रेखांकित अक्षर अथवा अक्षरों से भिन्न होती है। भिन्न ध्वनि वाला शब्द सही उत्तर होता है। जैसे

Rule: दिये हए प्रत्येक शब्द. को ध्यान से पढो तथा रेखांकित अक्षरों की ध्वनि पर विशेष ध्यान दो। जिस शब्द के, रेखांकित अक्षरों की ध्वनि में भिन्नता हो, वही answer है, अतः उस शब्द का क्रमाक्षर उत्तर में लिख दो। भिन्न ध्वनि पहचानने के लिए निरन्तर अभ्यास की आवश्यकता है।
