  1. The cotton plant has fruits called cotton bolls. These bolls are full of seeds and cotton fibre.
  2. When cotton bolls are riped they open to expose cotton. The collection of cotton from cotton bolls is done by hand picking.
  3. Cotton fibres are then separated from seeds by combing. This process is known as ginning. After ginning, the cotton is collected as fibre.
  4. The cotton fibres are converted into yarn with the process known as spinning.
  5. The yarn is now converted into fabric by the process of weaving and knitting.
