RBSE Class 11 English Compulsory Writing Description of Events

Event - एक महत्त्वपूर्ण घटना होती है, यह रुचिकर भी होती है । एक योजनाबद्ध सार्वजनिक या सामाजिक अवसर को भी इसी के अन्तर्गत रखा जाता है ।।

Incident - एक ऐसी घटना होती है जो कि महत्वपूर्ण तो नहीं होती है परन्तु आप इसे इसलिए याद करते हैं क्योंकि यह कुछ असामान्य या दुःखद थी । गम्भीर तथा हिंसक घटनाएँ, जैसे-अपराध, दुर्घटना, हमला इत्यादि भी incident की ही श्रेणी में आते हैं । Event या Incident का वास्तविक वर्णन करते समय निम्नलिखित बातों का ध्यान रखना चाहिये : 
आवश्यक तथ्य, जैसे- घटना का स्थान, तारीख, समय आदि अवश्य लिखना चाहिये । घटना का वर्णन तार्किक क्रम में होना चाहिये । प्रस्तुतीकरण की भाषा सरल होनी चाहिये ।। अनावश्यक वाक्यों या तथ्यों को नहीं लिखना चाहिये ।

Question 1.
You are Aman of St. Joseph School. Your library is shifted to the new building recently. So describe this event in your own words with the help of the following hints :
summer vacation, reopened the school, classes, running in a new building, old library congested, new library, magazines.

New Library Of My School :

This was the month of July. After summer vacation our school reopened on 1st July. We reached school and found that all our classes will run in new building. So we were walking in the new building. Suddenly, we saw a spacious hall in this building. On its door there was written 'Library'. For a monment we stopped. Then we peeped into the hall. We said wow ! It is a nice place. Our earlier literary was very congested and stuffy. We all were happy to see our new library. Now there was a beautiful separate reading room also. There were separate shelves for periodicals and magazines. A separate catalogue rack had been added to enable students to locate books.

(यह जुलाई का महीना था । गर्मी की छुट्टियों के पश्चात् हमारा स्कूल 1 जुलाई को पुनः खुला । जब हम स्कूल पहुँचे तो देखा कि हमारी कक्षाएँ नवीन इमारत में लगेंगी । इसलिये हम नई इमारत में घूम रहे थे । अचानक उस भवन में हमें एक काफी बड़ा हॉल दिखाई दिया । इसके दरवाजे पर लिखा था 'पुस्तकालय' । एक क्षण के लिये हम रुके। फिर हमने हाल में झाँककर देखा । हमारे मुँह से खुशी से एकदम निकला यह बहुत अच्छी जगह है । हमारा पहले वाला पुस्तकालय बहुत ही छोटा और दमघोंटू था । हम सभी अपने नये पुस्तकालय को देखकर बहुत खुश हुए । अब यहाँ एक शानदार अलग से पढ़ने का कमरा भी था । Periodicals व Magazines के लिये अलग-अलग अलमारियाँ थीं । विद्यार्थियों को पुस्तकें ढूँढने में आसानी हो इसलिये अलग से एक Catalogue rack भी रखी गयी थी ।)

What you saw at the railway platform when you went to the station to receive your brother. Write in your own words using the following hints :

Scene At The Railway Platform 

At the railway station everybody looks so busy. Last week I went to the railway station to receive my brother. The train was late by half an hour. So I had enough time to enjoy the scene at railway platform. The passengers were waiting impatiently for the arrival of the train. Vendors were calling at the top of their voices to sell eatables. There was a great rush at the tea stalls.

Some people were buying magazines and newspapers. The scene changed when the train arrived. There was a lot of noise and confusion. People were standing at the doors of the train. There was a lot of jostling and elbowing. I was very happy to see my brother. After sometime the guard whistled and the train moved on. 

(प्लेटफार्म पर प्रत्येक व्यक्ति व्यस्त नजर आता है । पिछले सप्ताह मैं अपने भाई को लेने रेलवे स्टेशन गया । ट्रेन आधा घण्टा देरी से थी । इसलिये रेलवे प्लेटफार्म के दृश्य का आनन्द उठाने के लिये मेरे पास काफी समय था। यात्रीगण बेसब्री से ट्रेन के आने का इन्तजार कर रहे थे । फेरी वाले अपनी ऊँची आवाजों में खाने-पीने का सामान बेच रहे थे ।

चाय की दुकानों पर बहुत भीड़ थी । कुछ लोग पत्रिकायें व अखबार खरीद रहे थे । जैसे ही ट्रेन आई दृश्य बदल गया । वहाँ बेहद शोर व असमंजस की स्थिति थी । लोग ट्रेन के दरवाजों पर खड़े थे । वहाँ बहुत धक्का-मुक्की हो रही थी। मैं अपने भाई को देखकर बेहद खुश हुआ । कुछ समय पश्चात् गार्ड ने सीटी बजाई और ट्रेन चलने लगी ।)

Recently you attended the wedding of your friend. It was a great event. Describe the procession in your own words using the following hints :

A Wedding Procession 

A few days back I attended the wedding of my friend, Vishal. The marriage procession started at 7 p.m.. It was led by a band. The bridegroom was riding on a mare. Men, women and children were dressed in their best. Every one was in a gay mood. We were dancing and enjoying the procession. The marriage party reached the bride's house at 8 p.m.

It was beautifully decorated and lighted. We were given a warm reception. At first, we were served with cold drink and snacks. Thereafter, we were given a grand dinner. Varmala Ceremony was performed on the stage. We were dancing on DJ. Then other marriage rituals were performed. Early next morning we started back with the bride.

(कुछ दिन पहले मैं अपने मित्र विशाल की शादी में शामिल हुआ । बारात शाम 7 बजे आरम्भ हुई । यह बैंड के साथ गयी । दूल्हा घोड़ी पर सवार था । पुरुष, स्त्रियाँ और बच्चे सभी बढ़िया से बढ़िया परिधानों में थे । प्रत्येक व्यक्ति खुशी के मूड में था । हम बारात में नाच रहे थे और जश्न मना रहे थे । बारात रात 8 बजे दुल्हन के घर पहुँच गयी ।

यह बहुत ही खूबसूरत ढंग से सजा हुआ था और जगमगा रहा था । हमारा हार्दिक स्वागत किया गया । सबसे पहले हमें ठण्डा पेय पदार्थ व हल्का नाश्ता दिया गया । उसके बाद हमें भव्य रात्रिभोज दिया गया । वरमाला की रस्म स्टेज पर हुई । हम डी.जे. पर नाच रहे थे । उसके बाद अन्य वैवाहिक रस्में की गयीं । अगले दिन सुबह हम दुल्हन के साथ वापिस आ गये ।)

How I Celebrated My Birthday 

My birthday falls on the 10th of June. I am very crazy about my birthday. As usual, this year also it was celebrated with great pomp and show. In the morning 'Havan' was performed. I invited all my Course, Class 11 friends and relatives. In the evening all the invitees arrived. They greeted me with the words, "Manymany happy returns of the day !" They offered me birthday presents.

Then I cut the birthday cake. They sang in chorus : 'Happy birthday to you, dear Vivek'. Then the guests were served tea, cold drink, and dainty dishes. After that a cultural programme was arranged. We all sang song and danced. My friends cracked jokes. We all enjoyed. It was a great fun. I thanked all my friends and relatives for their kind visit and good wishes.

(मेरा जन्मदिन 10 जून को पड़ता है । मैं अपने जन्मदिन के लिये बहुत उत्साहित रहता हूँ । प्रत्येक वर्ष की भाँति इस वर्ष भी इसे बहुत ही धूमधाम से मनाया गया । प्रातः काल हवन हुआ । मैंने अपने सभी मित्रों और रिश्तेदारों को आमंत्रित किया था । शाम को सभी आ गये थे । उन्होंने मुझे यह कहते हुए शुभकामनाएँ दी कि 'यह शुभ दिन बार-बार आये' । उन्होंने मुझे जन्मदिन के तोहफे दिये । उसके बाद मैंने केक काटा ।

Celebration Of 80th Birthday Of My Grandmother 

I am very close to my grandmother. March 20, 20_ _ will remain a memorable day for my family. It was my grandmother's birthday. On the day she completed her 80 years. She looked pretty, beautiful and calm. Not a trace of wrinkles could be seen on her face. In order to make the day more attractive, we arranged a family get together.

My uncles, aunts, cousins and all other members of the family were under the same roof. They had heaped the courtyard with presents, flowers, and other items. My grandmother was in a meditative mood. My grandfather looked very happy. Then she cut the birthday cake. All clapped and offered their wishes for the grandmother. Grandmother offered cake pieces to all. Everybody prayed to God for her health and long life.

(मैं अपनी दादीमाँ के बहुत करीब हूँ। 20 मार्च, 20_ _ मेरे परिवार के लिये एक यादगार दिन रहेगा । यह मेरी दादीमाँ का जन्मदिन था । उस दिन उन्होंने अपने 80 वर्ष पूरे किये थे । वह बड़ी खूबसूरत, आकर्षक व शान्त लग रहीं थीं । उनके चेहरे पर झुर्रियों का एक भी निशान नहीं दिखता था । उस दिन को और अधिक आकर्षक बनाने के लिये हमने एक पारिवारिक पार्टी का आयोजन किया ।

मेरे चाचा, चाची, चाचा के लड़के-लड़कियाँ और परिवार के बाकी सभी लोग एक ही छत के नीचे एकत्रित हुए । उन्होंने उपहारों, फूलों व अन्य वस्तुओं से पूरे आँगन को भर दिया । मेरी दादीमाँ ध्यानमग्न थीं । मेरे दादाजी बहुत खुश लग रहे थे । फिर उन्होंने जन्मदिन का केक काटा । सभी ने तालियाँ बजाई व दादी माँ को शुभकामनाएँ दी । दादी माँ ने सबको थोड़ा-थोड़ा करके केक दिया । सबने ईश्वर से उनके अच्छे स्वास्थ्य और दीर्घायु की प्रार्थना की ।)

The Prize Distribution Function 

It was 8th of February, the day of our annual function. It was also a prize distribution function. The school building was white-washed. The hall was decorated. In fact, the whole building was decorated nicely. Many VIPs were invited in the function. Minister of education presided over the function. He was welcomed at the school gate by the principal and the members of the managing committee.

The function started at 6:30 p.m.. There was a fine cultural programme. The principal read out the annual report. Then the chief guest gave away the prizes to the winners of different competitions. The students who secured good marks in final exams were also given prizes. He encouraged the students to take part in various activities of the school. The principal delivered vote of thanks.

(यह 8 फरवरी का दिन था, हमारे वार्षिक समारोह का दिन । यह एक पुरस्कार वितरण समारोह भी था । स्कूल की इमारत पर सफेदी पोती गई । हॉल को सजाया गया था । वास्तव में सम्पूर्ण इमारत को बहुत अच्छे ढंग से सजाया गया था । बहुत से विशिष्ट व्यक्ति समारोह में आमंत्रित थे । शिक्षा मंत्री ने समारोह की अध्यक्षता की ।

When I Won The Quiz Contest 

Iparticipated in Quiz Contest organised in Govt Senior Secondary School, Nagar on Sep. 5, 20_ _. Fifteen teams participated in the contest. There was a committee of 5 judges to announce the result. In the contest there was a variety of questions on science, literature, music, politics, games, sports and from other fields.

The participants of my team answered almost all the questions very sharply. Thus, my team secured 97 points while the other rival teams could not secure more than 70 points. The judge declared," So today's winner team is Royal Rajasthan". Hearing this I was very glad. Then they offered the trophy to our team. When I came back my family enjoyed this victory with great enthusiasm. 

(5 सितम्बर 20_ _ को राजकीय सीनियर सैकण्ड्री स्कूल, नगर में आयोजित सी.बी.एस.ई. प्रश्नोत्तरी प्रतियोगिता में मैंने भाग लिया था । इस प्रतियोगिता में 15 टीमों ने भाग लिया था । इसमें प्रतियोगिता के परिणाम घोषित करने हेतु 5 न्यायाधीशों की एक समिति बनाई गयी थी । प्रतियोगिता में विज्ञान, साहित्य, संगीत, राजनीति, खेलकूद व अन्य क्षेत्रों से अनेक तरह के प्रश्न थे । मेरी टीम के सभी प्रतिभागियों ने लगभग सभी प्रश्नों के उत्तर बहुत ही कुशाग्रता से दिए ।

इसलिए, हमारी टीम ने 97 अंक हासिल किये जबकि अन्य प्रतिद्वन्द्वी टीमें 70 से अधिक अंक हासिल नहीं कर सकी । न्यायाधीशों ने घोषणा की, "तो आज की विजेता टीम है रॉयल राजस्थान ।" यह सुनकर मैं बेहद खुश हुआ । फिर उन्होंने हमारी टीम को ट्रॉफी प्रदान की । जब मैं वापस आया तो मेरे परिवार ने इस जीत का पूरे जोश के साथ आनन्द लिया ।

When We Met Kalpana Chawala's Parents 

Our school organised a function on 5th April, 20_ _ to pay a tribute to India's great space traveller Kalpana Chawla who became a martyr in the cause of space research. Kalpana's parents Mrs and Mr Chawla were the Chief Guests. The function began promptly at 10:00 a.m. Mr Chawla

tearfully garlanded the photograph of his illustrious daughter. During the programme our Principal declared that our newly constructed girls' hostel would be named after her. At the end of the programme an open session was held when the students could meet with the proud but sad parents. The programme came to an end with the vote of thanks by our Vice Principal. It was an inspiring and very touching event. I can not forget it. 

(हमारे स्कूल ने महान अन्तरिक्ष यात्री कल्पना चावला को श्रद्धांजलि देने हेतु 5 अप्रैल, 20__ को एक कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया । कल्पना चावला के माता-पिता श्रीमती व श्रीमान चावला कार्यक्रम के मुख्य अतिथि थे । कार्यक्रम ठीक 10 बजे (सुबह) शुरू हुआ । मि. चावला ने आँसुओं से अपनी महान बेटी कल्पना चावला के चित्र पर माल्यार्पण किया ।

कार्यक्रम के दौरान हमारे प्रधानाचार्य ने घोषणा की कि हमारे नवनिर्मित छात्रावास का नाम कल्पना चावला के नाम पर रखा जायेगा । कार्यक्रम के अन्त में एक खुला कार्यक्रम रखा गया जब विद्यार्थी गौरवान्वित मगर दुखी माता-पिता से बात कर सके । हमारे उप प्रधानाचार्य के धन्यवाद ज्ञापन के साथ कार्यक्रम का समापन हुआ । यह बहुत ही प्रेरणादायक व हृदय को छू लेने वाली घटना थी । मैं इसे नहीं भूल सकता/सकती हूँ ।)

When I Participated In Republic Day Parade 

Indeed, it is an unforgettable event of my life. Our school team happened to participate in the Republic Day Parade at Vijay chowk in New Delhi. More than fifty teams participated in this parade. We all were representing different parts of India in our colourful dresses.

Our presentation was highly enthusiastic. It was also an examination day for us. When the name of our school team was announced, I was awe-stricken. Our team was adjudged as the best participating team. My joys knew no bound because I was representing my team. I was taken to the dais to receive the highest honour. Everybody was very happy in my family.

(वास्तव में वह मेरी जिन्दगी की अविस्मरणीय घटना थी । हमारे स्कूल की टीम को गणतंत्र दिवस परेड में, विजय चौक नई दिल्ली, में भाग लेने का अवसर मिला । इस परेड में 50 से अधिक टीमों ने भाग लिया । हम अपने रंग-बिरंगे परिधानों में देश के विभिन्न हिस्सों का प्रतिनिधित्व कर रहे थे । हमारी प्रस्तुति बेहद उत्साहजनक थी ।

यह हमारे लिये परीक्षा की घड़ी भी थी । जब हमारे स्कूल की टीम की घोषणा हुई तो मैं अवाक (आश्चर्यचकित) रह गयी। हमारी टीम को सबसे अच्छी टीम घोषित किया गया । मेरी खुशी की कोई सीमा नहीं थी क्योंकि मैं अपनी टीम का नेतृत्व कर रही थी । सर्वोच्च सम्मान प्राप्त करने के लिये मुझे मंच पर ले जाया गया । मेरे परिवार में सभी बेहद खुश थे ।

When I Was Honoured As Best Child Artist 

It was like my dream came true. Two years back a very lively exhibition was organised by the department of Small Scale Industries at SMS ground, Jaipur. The sports and cultural minister of the state inaugurated the function. All the states and union territories had displayed their articles in their well decorated Pavilion. I was representing Rajasthani folk art through my paintings.

I had displayed many paintings of different sizes. People were amazed to see my paintings. On the last day of the exhibition I received an envelop from cultural ministry. When I opened it I found a letter, 'Congratulations! You have been selected the best child artist'. I was extremely happy. It was a golden opportunity of my life.

(यह मेरे स्वप्न के सच होने जैसा था । दो वर्ष पूर्व लघु उद्योग विभाग की ओर से एक जीवंत प्रदर्शनी का आयोजन एस.एम.एस. मैदान, जयपुर में किया गया । राज्य के खेलकूद व सांस्कृतिक मंत्री ने प्रदर्शनी का उद्घाटन किया । सभी राज्यों और केन्द्रशासित राज्यों ने अपने-अपने क्षेत्र की अपनी वस्तुएँ प्रदर्शन हेतु रखीं थीं ।

मैं अपनी चित्रकारी के माध्यम से राजस्थानी लोक कला का प्रतिनिधित्व कर रहा था । मैंने विभिन्न आकार के बहुत-से चित्र प्रदर्शनी में लगाये थे। चित्रकारी को देखकर लोग अचंभित थे । प्रदर्शनी के अन्तिम दिन संस्कृति विभाग (मंत्रालय) से मुझे एक लिफाफा प्राप्त हुआ । जब मैंने उसे खोला तो मुझे एक पत्र मिला, “शुभकामनाएँ! आपको सर्वश्रेष्ठ बाल-चित्रकार चुना गया है," मैं बेहद खुश था । यह मेरी जिन्दगी का स्वर्णिम अवसर था ।)

A Journey By Air Once 

I chanced to go to London by plane. My flight was from Delhi to London. The plane took off at right time according to its schedule. It rose in the air higher and higher. From there everything looked so tiny. It seemed that we were travelling in the land of fairies.

I took great delight to see the scenery. We passed over a big desert and Suez Canal. From that height, ships looked like toys floating in a small pond. The plane halted at Cairo, the capital of Egypt for half an hour. We had dinner there. Soon, we took off again.

We came down at Malta for a little while. I had desire to have a glimpse of Paris, the capital of France. Finally, our plane landed at Heathrow Airport. From there I drove off to my friend's house in London. Really, it was such an enjoyable journey which no one would like to forget.

(एक बार मुझे हवाई जहाज से (plane) से लंदन जाने का अवसर मिला । मेरी उड़ान दिल्ली से लंदन के लिए थी। हवाई जहाज ने अपने निश्चित समय से उड़ान भरी । यह हवा में ऊपर और ऊपर उठता गया । ऊपर से प्रत्येक वस्तु बहुत छोटी दिख रही थी । ऐसा लगा मानो हम परीलोक में यात्रा कर रहे हों । मुझे नजारा देखने में बेहद मजा आया । हम एक बड़े रेगिस्तान और स्वेज नहर के ऊपर से गुजरे ।

इतनी ऊँचाई से पानी के जहाज (ships) ऐसे दिख रहे थे जैसे छोटे से तालाब में खिलौने तैर रहे हों । Plane मिस्र की राजधानी 'Cairo' काहिरा में आधे घण्टे के लिये रुका । वहाँ हमने रात्रि भोज लिया । जल्दी ही हम दोबारा उड़ने लगे । हम कुछ देर के लिये Malta में रुके । मैं फ्रांस की राजधानी पैरिस की एक झलक देखना चाहता था । अन्त में हमारा हवाई जहाज Heathrow हवाई अड्डे पर उतर गया । वहाँ से लंदन में मैं अपने मित्र के घर की ओर चल पड़ा । वास्तव में, यह इतनी आनन्ददायक यात्रा थी कि कोई भी उसे भूलना नहीं चाहेगा।)

A Notice For Picnic

Dear students, I am very glad to inform you that we are going on a picnic to Kashmir next week. I would like to tell you that you have to follow the following directions to make your picnic trip a success. First of all, every student should be in proper uniform. He/She will come with a water-bottle. No student will be allowed to move separately. He/She will have to move in a group.

Besides these, no student will be allowed to have a bath in the lake. If someone is found disobeying this order, he or she may be rusticated from the school. We have arranged a delicious and magnificent lunch and dinner for you. I hope you will co-operate with me and make this trip a pleasant experience.

(प्रिय छात्रो, आपको सूचित करते हुए मैं बहुत खुश हूँ कि अगले सप्ताह हम पिकनिक पर कश्मीर जा रहे हैं । मैं आपको बताना चाहूँगा कि आपको अपनी पिकनिक को सफल बनाने के लिये निम्नलिखित निर्देशों का पालन करना होगा । सबसे पहले प्रत्येक छात्र को स्कूल की यूनीफॉर्म में होना चाहिये । वह पीने के पानी की बोतल साथ में लायेगा/लायेगी । किसी भी छात्र/छात्रा को अकेले घूमने की अनुमति नहीं होगी ।

उसे समूह (group) में चलना होगा। इसके अलावा, किसी भी विद्यार्थी को झील में नहाने की अनुमति नहीं होगी । यदि कोई भी लड़का/लड़की इन नियमों का उल्लंघन करते हुए पाया गया तो उसे स्कूल से निकाल दिया जायेगा । हमने आपके लिये स्वादिष्ट व शानदार दोपहर के भोजन व रात्रिभोज की व्यवस्था की है । मैं आशा करता हूँ कि आप सभी मुझे सहयोग करेंगे और इस पिकनिक को एक सुखद अनुभव बनायेंगे ।)
