Why does the traveller thank the star ? 
यात्री तारे को धन्यवाद क्यों देता है?

The traveller thanks the star for showing him the way during night.

Question 3. 
What happens when the sun goes away? 
जब सूर्य अस्त हो जाता है तब क्या होता है? 
Answer:
When the sun goes away, the star appears in the sky and shines for the whole night. 
जब सूर्य अस्त हो जाता है, तब तारा आकाश में प्रकट होता है और पूरी रात चमकता है। 

Question 4. 
How does the boy know that the star is peeping through his curtains? 
लड़के को कैसे मालूम होता है कि तारा उसके पर्यों में से झांक कर रहा है? 
Answer:
The boy sees the star through the transparent curtains. That's why he knows it.
लड़का उस तारे को पारदर्शी पर्दो में से देख सकता है इसलिए उसे यह मालूम है।

What is the colour of the sky at night? 
रात के समय आकाश का रंग कैसा होता है? 
Answer:
The colour of the sky is dark blue at night. 
रात के समय आकाश गहरे नीले रंग का होता है। 

Question 6. 
What happens when the sun comes back in the sky? 
जब सूर्य आकाश में वापिस आ जाता है तब क्या होता है? 
Answer:
When the sun comes back in the sky, the star disappears from there. 
जब सूर्य आकाश में वापिस आ जाता है, तब तारा वहाँ से गायब हो जाता है।

(A) Find words from the poem that are similar in meaning to the following words and write them in your notebooks. For some words, you may find more than one word in the poem. Write as many as you find. 

कविता में से ऐसे शब्द खोजिए जिनका अर्थ निम्नलिखित शब्दों के समान हो, एवं उन्हें अपनी कॉपी में लिखिए। कुछ शब्दों के लिए आपको कविता में से एक से अधिक शब्द भी मिल सकते हैं। जितने भी शब्द आप खोज सकते हैं, उन सभी को लिखिए।

(B) In the poem, given below you noticed that two successive lines end with the words having similar sound. 

नीचे दी गई कविता में आपने देखा कि दो क्रमागत पंक्तियाँ समान ध्वनि वाले शब्दों के साथ समाप्त होती हैं। 

Twinkle, twinkle, little star, How I wonder what you are ! Up above the world so high, Like a diamond in the sky. First two lines end with similar sounding words : 'star' and 'are' while the next two lines have similar sounding words: 'high' and 'sky in the end. Such words are called rhyming words. Now, look at the words given in the box and arrange them in the table under the words with similar sounds. 

पहली दो पंक्तियाँ समान ध्वनि वाले शब्द 'star' तथा ‘are' के साथ समाप्त होती हैं, जबकि अगली दो पंक्तियों में समान ध्वनि वाले शब्द 'high' एवं 'sky' अन्त में दिए गए हैं। ऐसे शब्दों को rhyming शब्द कहते हैं। अब बाक्स में दिए गए शब्दों को देखिए एवं सूचीपत्र में समान ध्वनि वाले शब्दों के नीचे क्रम में लिखिए।

The child in the poem says,  "Twinkle, twinkle, little star....... Is the star really 'little'? Discuss with your friends and teacher. 
कविता में बच्चा कहता है- Twinkle, twinkle, little star.......।' क्या तारा वास्तव में 'little' (छोटा सा) है? अपने दोस्तों तथा अध्यापक के साथ चर्चा कीजिए। 
Answer:
Raj : Is the star really small ? 
Bharat : I don't know, but it looks small. 
Teacher : What are you discussing, children ? 
Bharat : Sir, Raj is asking me whether the star in the sky is really little. 
Teacher : No, children. The star is not little. It seems to be small because it is millions of light years away from the earth. In fact, some stars may be even larger than the sun. 
Raj and Bharat : Thank you sir for this exciting information. 

राज : क्या तारा सचमुच छोटा है? 
भरत : मुझे मालूम तो नहीं है, परन्तु वह दिखता तो छोटा ही है।
अध्यापक : बच्चों, तुम आपस में क्या चर्चा कर रहे हो? 
भरत : सर, राज मुझसे पूछ रहा है कि आकाश में मौजूद तारा क्या सचमुच में छोटा है।

क्या आप जानते हैं कि शाम के समय सूर्य कहाँ चला जाता है? क्या वह रात में ठंडा हो जाता है? अपने विचारों को एक पैराग्राफ के रूप में लिखिए। 
Answer:
All the planets revolve round the sun. The earth is a big planet. The part of the earth which comes in front of the sun shines, while the other part remains in dark. In the night, the sun does not cool down, instead it spreads . light in the other part of the planet. 

समस्त ग्रह सूर्य के इर्द-गिर्द घूमते हैं। पृथ्वी एक विशाल ग्रह है। पृथ्वी का वह भाग, जो सूर्य के सामने आता है, चमकता है। जबकि दूसरा भाग अंधेरे में रहता है। रात के समय सूर्य ठंडा नहीं होता है, बल्कि वह ग्रह के अन्य भागों में चमक रहा होता है। वह चांद एवं तारों को भी रोशनी प्रदान करता है।

Twinkle, twinkle, little star, 
How I wonder what you are! 
up above the world so high, 
Like a diamond in the sky. 

Word-meanings-twinkle (ट्‌विंकल) - झिलमिलाहट। little (लिट्ल) = छोटा। star (स्टार) = तारा । wonder (वन्डर) = चकित होना। up above (अप अबॅव) = अधिक ऊँचा। world (वर्ल्ड) = (यहाँ) पृथ्वी। so high (सो हाइ) = इतनी ऊँचाई पर। diamond (डाइमन्ड) = हीरा। sky (स्काइ) = आकाश। भावार्थ-बच्चा (लड़का) जब छोटे से झिलमिलाते तारे को, जो पृथ्वी से दूर, बहुत अधिक ऊँचाई पर, आकाश में, हीरे की तरह चमकता देखता है तो चकित होता है। When the blazing sun is gone, When nothing shines upon, Then you show your little light, Twinkle, twinkle, all the night. 

Word-meanings-blazing (ब्लेजिंग) = देदीप्यमान/धधकता हुआ। is gone (इज़ गॉन) = अस्त हो जाता है। nothing (नथिंग) - कुछ नहीं। shines (शाइन्ज़) = चमकता है। show (शो) = दर्शाते हो। भावार्थ-बच्चा (लड़का) कहता है कि जब देदीप्यमान सूर्य अस्त हो जाता है और आसमान में कुछ भी नहीं चमकता, तब यह नन्हा तारा सारी रात अपना हल्का (थोड़ा) प्रकाश बिखेरते हुए, झिलमिलाता रहता है।Then the traveller in the dark Thanks you for your tiny spark, How could he see where to go, If you did not twinkle so ? 

Word-meanings-traveller (ट्रैवलूों ) = यात्री। dark (डा:क) = अन्धकार । thanks you (थैक्स यू) - तुम्हें धन्यवाद देता है। tiny (टाइनि) = छोटा सा। spark (स्पा:क) = चमक। see (सी) = देखना। भावार्थ-बच्चा (लड़का) कहता है कि अन्धकार में चलने वाला यात्री, तारे को उसकी मंद चमक के लिए धन्यवाद देता है। यदि यह तारा अपनी झिलमिलाहट नहीं बिखेरता तो वह यात्री अपने लक्ष्य पर कैसे पहुँच पाता। 

In the dark blue sky you keep, 
Often through my curtains peep 
For you never shut your eye, 
Till the sun is in the sky. 

Word-meanings-dark blue (डा:क ब्लू) = गहरा नीला रंग। often (ऑफ़न) = अक्सर। curtains (क:टन्ज़) = पर्दे। peep (पीप) = तांक-झांक करना, झांकना। never (नेवर) = कभी नहीं, जरा भी नहीं। shut (शट) = बन्द करना। till (टिल) = जब तक। भावार्थ-बच्चा (लड़का) कहता है कि गहरे नीले रंग के आकाश में यह सितारा पर्दो में से अक्सर झांकता रहता है। जब तक सूर्य आकाश में नहीं आ जाता है तब तक यह नन्हा तारा बिलकुल भी अपनी आँख बन्द नहीं करता है।

Word-meanings-bright (ब्राइट) = चमकीला। though (दो) = यद्यपि। भावार्थ-बच्चा (लड़का) कहता है कि यद्यपि वह नहीं जानता है कि वह नन्हा तारा कौन है परन्तु वह इतना अवश्य जानता है कि उसकी छोटी परन्त चमकीली चमक, यात्री को अन्धकार के समय रोशनी दिखाती|
