Many rulers tried to control Kanauj which was a prized area because it was a very fertile city in the Ganga valley. Water from the river Ganga and its tributaries was easily available for irrigation. Hence, this area was rich in production and trade.

Dynasty of Chahamanas had central position in the subcontinent so, they wanted to expand their territories to the west and the east direction also. They wanted to be the wealthiest of all the neighbouring dynasties. They also wanted the prized Ganga valley under their control.

Answer:
No, there were no Brahmanas. The activities which were taking place were— agrarian labourers engaged in small occupations, children playing with puppies, babies and animals resting under trees, cocks crowing and women singing and husking paddy. All such activities were never inscribed on the walls of the temples because such social groups were out casted from the areas where Brahmanas and Vellalas lived. They considered activities of these groups as menial and unimportant.

In a sabha election, first of all the nominations for the election are announced. The paper is distributed for the names of candidates to be written on it. He performed a ritual called Hiranya - garbha with the help of Brahmanas to become a Kshatriya king. In this way, Dantidurga became the founder of Rashtrakuta dynasty.
