→ वेद दुनिया के प्राचीनतम ग्रन्थों में से एक हैं।
→ वेद चार हैं:
- ऋग्वेद
- सामवेद
- यजुर्वेद
- अथर्ववेद इनमें ऋग्वेद सबसे पुराना है।
→ ऋग्वेद का उच्चारण किया जाता था और श्रवण किया जाता था न कि पढ़ा जाता था।
→ ऋग्वेद में मवेशियों, बच्चों (खासकर पुत्रों) और घोड़ों की प्राप्ति के लिए अनेक प्रार्थनाएँ हैं।
