It is the largest continent in the world. It has the highest and the lowest points in the World. Asia is separated from Europe by the Ural Mountains on the west. The combined landmark of Euopre and Asia is called the Eurasia.

71% of the earth is covered with water and this area of the Earth is called as Hydrosphere. Because of it our Earth is also known as the blue planet. 97.2% of the total water is unfit.for human consumption as it is salty. 2.8% of the remaining water is in the form of ice sheets and glaciers or under the ground. A very small percentage around 1% is available as fresh water for human use. Ocean form a major part of hydrosphere. There are five major oceans Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Arctic and Southern Ocean.

  3. Emission from industries, thermal power plants, and automobile vehicles give out carbon dioxide (CO2) in air. It increases the proportion of this gas in air which has been considered as the chief factor responsible for increase in global temperature called global warming.
