Mention the types of garbage. 
Answer: 
The garbage can be divided into 2 components:
1. Useful garbage components: 
Useful garbage components are the components that can easily be decayed and converted into manure in the soil which  utilized to fertilize the crops. Examples of useful components are fruit and vegetable peels, plant and animal waste, tea leaves, coffee grounds, paper, eggshells, etc.

2. Non-useful garbage components: 
Non-useful garbage components take longer time to decay. When non-useful components decay, they release gases that are harmful for the environment. Examples of non-useful components are polythene bags, plastics, glass and aluminum foils. 

Question 2. 
What can be done to non-useful garbage materials?
Answer: 
The non-useful components are spread over the landfill and then covered with a layer of soil. When the landfill is completely full it is usually changed into a park. No building can be constructed on it for a period of 20 years. Compost-making areas are also developed near the landfill to deal with non-useful material.

Question 3. 
List the conditions needed to maintain while the process of vermicomposting.
Answer: 

1. Do not use wastes that may contain salt, pickle, oil, vinegar, meat, milk, etc. as food for redworms because these foods will attract disease-causing microorganisms.
2. Sprinkle some water to make layer wet. Do not use excessive water.
3. Once in a few days gently mix and move the top layers of your pit.
4. Keep the layer loose so that it has sufficient air and moisture.
5. Vermicomposting should be done in a shaded corner.

How will you make a vermicomposting pit?
Answer: 
A vermicomposting pit is made with a wooden box or big cement rings. A mesh is spread at the bottom of the pit. Over this mesh vegetable, fruit and animal waste is spread. Water is sprinkled to create moisture so that the redworms can live. A vermicomposting pit takes nearly two to four weeks to convert the waste into manure completely.

2. Put the pieces of paper in a bucket and pour water into it. Soak them into the water for one day. Now, make a thick paste of paper by continuously hitting it.
3. Spread the wet paste on the net or sieve. Pat, it gently to make the layer of the paste as uniform as possible. Use an old cloth or newspaper to remove the extra water from the paste and dry it by spreading it under the sun. Use this paper mache paste to get beautiful patterns.
