RBSE Class 5 English Grammar Preposition

Preposition वह शब्द है जो बाक्य के किसी noun अथवा pronoun के पहले आकर किसी अन्य noun अथवा pronoun के साथ अपना सम्बन्ध स्थापित करता है। जैसे. 
(i) The cat is sitting on the table.
(ii) She is under the tree. 
(iii) He is in the room.
(iv) The sky is over our head. 

उपर्युक्त वाक्यों में वाक्य 
(i) का on शब्द preposition है तथा यह cat तथा table का संबंध बताता है। वाक्य 
(ii) में under शब्द preposition है जो she और tree के बीच संबंध बताता है तथा वाक्य 
(iii) का : in शब्द preposition है जो he तथा room के बीच में संबंध को बताता है।
वाक्य 
(iv) में over शब्द preposition है। यह sky व head के मध्य सम्बंध बताता है। 

मुख्य Prepositions एवं उनके प्रयोग --

1. at के प्रयोग 

(a) छोटे स्थान के पूर्व - I live at Deeg in Bharatpur. 

(b) घड़ी का निश्चित समय, दिनों तथा अवधि प्रकट करने वाले त्यौहारों के पूर्व
(i) The sun rose at 6:00 am.
(ii) We had lunch at noon. 
(iii) She came home at Deepawali. 

(c) गति, निश्चित तापक्रम तथा कीमत के साथ
(i) She drove her car at 70 km an hour. 
(ii) Water boils at 100°C. 
(iii) Bananas are sold at ten rupees a kilo. 

2. on के प्रयोग 

(a) दिन, तिथियों व दिनांकों के पूर्व
(i) Ram will go to Kota on Monday.
(ii) He is returning on 7th July. 

(b) किसी वस्तु के किसी सतह या धरातल पर स्पर्श करते हुए टिके रहने के अर्थ में
(i) The book is on the table.
(ii) There is a carpet on the floor. 

(c) 'के बारे में' के अर्थ में
He is writing a book on his teacher. 

(d) दिशा दर्शाने में
I met him on the way...." 

(e) किसी कार्य का साधन बताने के लिए
Don't talk here on phone. 

3. in के प्रयोग 

(a) महीनों, ऋतुओं व वर्षों के नामों के पूर्व
(i) I was born in 2005.
(ii) We took exams in April. 

(b) स्थान के पूर्व
(i) I was sitting in my room.
(ii) We live in India. 

(c) समय की अवधि जिसमें कोई कार्य समाप्त हो जाएगा
I shall be back in an hour. 

(d) morning, afternoon तथा evening के पूर्व
Meet me in the evening. 

(e) रंग, वस्तु या पदार्थ, स्थिति या दशा बताने में
(i) She is still in great trouble.
(ii) Anurag is in happy mood. 

(f) कार्य या व्यवसाय दर्शाने के लिए
He is in the army. 

(g) परिवहन का कोई साधन बताने के लिए
I came here in a car. 

4. under के प्रयोग

(a) किसी वस्तु का किसी सतह के नीचे होने के अर्थ में
The dog went under the table. 

(b) अन्दर तथा डूबा या घिरा होना
There is a pencil under the water. 

(c) अपेक्षाकृत कम के अर्थ में
She is under forty.

(d) की अवस्था में होना
The road is under repair. 

(e) पद या दर्जे में निम्न होना
Many people work under him. 

5. over के प्रयोग

(a) सीधे या लम्बवत् ऊपर होने के अर्थ में. 
The sky is over. our heads. 

(b) 'से अधिक' के अर्थ में -
He is over fifty. 

(c) किसी कार्य में लगे होने या समय गुजारने के अर्थ
We decided it over a cup of tea. 

(d) एक छोर से दूसरे छोर तक के अर्थ में -
There was a bridge over the river. 

6. from के प्रयोग

(a) स्थान, व्यक्ति, समय या किसी भी बिन्दु से प्रस्थान करने के अर्थ में प्रायः to के साथ
(i) He travelled from village to village. 
(ii) She works here from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

(b) स्रोत दर्शाने के लिए
Apples come from Kashmir. 

(c) कारण, आदि दर्शाने के लिए
He is suffering from Malaria.

(d) वस्तुओं का प्रयोग तथा परिवर्तन दर्शाने के लिए
Butter is made from milk. 

7. with के प्रयोग

(a) ठीक उसी समय के अर्थ में
I rise with the sun. 

(b) साधन, औजार, हथियार आदि के प्रयोग करने के अर्थ में: 
He killed the lion with a gun. 

(c) साथ या सम्बंध बताने के अर्थ में
She went there with me. 

(d) तरीका या ढंग बताने में
He reached there with courage. 

(e) किसी की देखरेख, संभाल या अधिकार में छोड़ने के लिए
She left her daughter with her sister.
