Story writing (कहानी लेखन) में विद्यार्थियों को एक कहानी दिए गए topics में से किसी एक पर लिखनी होती है। इसे दी गई outlines के आधार पर लिखना है। कभी-कभी पूरी कहानी देकर उसमें Verb की जगह रिक्त स्थान देकर Verb को कोष्ठक में देते हैं तथा उसका सही रूप भरवाया जाता है। इस स्थिति में Verb की Past Tense की Form भरनी होती है। परीक्षा की दृष्टि से उपयोगी कुछ कहानियाँ नीचे दी जा रही है। 

Story Writing For Class 4 Question 1.
A crow.........very thirsty.........flies here and there.........sees a jug.........water level low......... thinks.........drops pebbles......... water comes up.........drinks ......... flies away.
Answer: 
A thirsty crow -- Once, a crow was very thirsty. He flew here and there in search of water. He saw a jug. He perched on it. The water level was low. He thought of a plan. He dropped pebbles into it. The water came up. He drank it and flew away. Moral : There is a will, there is a way.

एक प्यासा कौआ एक बार एक कौआ बहुत प्यासा था। वह जल की तलाश में इधर-उधर उड़ने लगा। उसने एक जग देखा। वह इस पर बैठा। जल स्तर नीचा था। उसने एक योजना सोची। उसने इसमें कंकड़ डाले। जल ऊपर आ गया। उसने इसे पीया और उड़ गया।
नैतिक शिक्षा : जहाँ चाह, वहाँ राह। 

Story Writing With Hints For Class 4 Question 2.
A dog.........greedy.........gets a piece of meat.........crossing a bridge.........sees his reflection .........thinks.........another dog .........barks.........his meat falls ....... into the water. 
Answer: 
A greedy dog -- Once there was a dog. He was very greedy. He got a piece of meat. With it, he was crossing a bridge. He saw his reflection into the water. He thought it an another dog with meat. He wanted to take that meat also. Consequently, he barked. His own meat fell into the water. Moral : Greed is a curse.

एक लालची कुत्ता एक बार एक कुत्ता था। वह बहुत लालची था। उसे मांस का एक टुकड़ा मिला। इसे लेकर वह पुल से जा रहा था। उसने पानी में अपनी परछाईं देखी। उसने इसे मांस के साथ एक दूसरा कुत्ता सोचा। उसने उस मांस को भी लेना चाहा। परिणामस्वरूप वह भौंका । उसका अपना मांस भी पानी में गिर गया। '' नैतिक शिक्षा : लालच बुरी बला है। 

Story Writing Class 4 Question 3.
Two friends.........going through a forest.........promises to help each other.........see a bear.........one climbs up a tree.........the other lies down.........bear smells......... thinks dead......goes away.........the tree friend asks what the bear said.........never trust false friends. 
Answer: 
Two friends and a bear -- Once, two friends were going through a forest. They promised to help each other. Suddenly, they saw a bear. One friend climbed up a tree. The other lay down. The bear smelled him. The bear thought him to be dead. He went away. The tree friend asked what the bear said. 'Never trust false friends' said the other. Moral : Never trust false friends.

दो मित्र तथा भालू एक बार दो मित्र एक जंगल से गुजर रहे थे। उन्होंने एक-दूसरे की सहायता करने का वादा कर रखा था। अचानक उन्होंने एक भालू को देखा। एक मित्र वृक्ष पर जा चढ़ा। दूसरा जमीन पर लेट गया। भालू ने उसे सूंघा। भालू ने उसे मरा समझा। वह चला गया। वृक्ष वाले मित्र ने पूछा कि भालू ने उससे क्या कहा। 'झूठे मित्रों पर कभी भरोसा न करें' दूसरे ने कहा। नैतिक शिक्षा : झूठे मित्रों पर कभी भरोसा न करें।

A hare laughs at a tortoise .........the tortoise challenges to run a race ......The hare runs......sleeps then ...... reaches the goal...... the hare repents.........tortoise wins......... 
Answer: 
A hare and a tortoise -- Once a hare laughed at a tortoise's slow speed. The tortoise challenged him to run a race. The hare ran fast. After sometime he rested. He slept then. The tortoise slowly but steadily reached the goal. The hare repented his defeat. The tortoise won the race. Moral : Slow but steady wins the race.

एक खरगोश व एक कछुआ -- एक बार एक खरगोश एक कछुए की धीमी गति पर हँसने लगा। कछुए ने उसे दौड़ लगाने की चुनौती दी। खरगोश तेज दौड़ा। कुछ समय बाद उसने विश्राम किया। वह फिर सो गया। कछुआ धीमे-धीमे किन्तु निरन्तरता से अपने लक्ष्य पर पहुँच गया। खरगोश अपनी हार का पश्चाताप करने लगा। कछुए ने दौड़ जीत ली। नैतिक शिक्षा : धीमे किन्तु निरन्तरता से लक्ष्य पाया जा सकता है। 

Outline Story Writing For Grade 4 Question 5.
A boy falls in a bad company .........father wants to reform...... brings some good.........bad apple .........asks the boy to put ......next day.........all......have become bad .........father asks him to leave ......the boy learns a lesson.
Answer:
A bad company Once a boy fell in a bad company. His father wanted to reform him. He brought soine good apples and a bad apple. He asked the boy to put them together. Next day, all the apples had become bad. The father asked him to leave the bad company. The boy learnt a lesson. Moral : Better alone than in a bad company.

बरी संगति -- एक बार एक लड़का एक बुरी संगति में पड गया। पिता उसे सुधारना चाहते थे। वो कुछ अच्छी सेब तथा एक खराब सेब लाए। उसने बालक से इन्हें एक साथ रखने को कहा। अगले दिन सारी सेब खराब हो चुकी थीं। पिता ने उससे बुरी संगति छोड़ने को कहा। लड़के ने एक सबक सीखा। नैतिक शिक्षा : बुरी संगति से तो अकेला भला।

एक लड़का जो झूठ बोलता था। -- एक बार एक गडरिये लड़के ने एक शैतानी सोची। वह चिल्लाया, 'भेड़िया! भेड़िया!' गाँव वाले सहायता के लिए आ गए। उसने उनका मजाक उड़ाया। वे उसकी झूठ समझ गये। एक बार एक भेड़िया वास्तव में आ गया। वह सहायता के लिए चिल्लाया। गाँव वालों ने उसका विश्वास नहीं किया। झूठ बोलने की आदत के कारण उसने अपना जीवन खो दिया। नैतिक शिक्षा : कभी झूठ न बोलें।

A clever fox and a foolish crow -- Once, a fox was very hungry. In a tree it saw a crow with a piece of bread. She said with flattery, "Your voice is very sweet. Please sing a song." The crow opened its beak to sing. The piece of bread fell down. The fox took it and ran away. The crow was very sad. It repented. Moral: Keep away from flattery. 

एक चतुर लोमड़ी व एक मूर्ख कौआ -- एक बार एक लोमड़ी बहुत भूखी थी। इसने एक वृक्ष पर एक कौए को रोटी के एक टुकड़े के साथ देखा। इसने चापलूसी करते हुए कहा, "आपकी आवाज बहुत मीठी है। कृपया एक गीत गाइए।" कौए ने गीत गाने के लिए अपनी चोंच खोली। रोटी का टुकड़ा नीचे गिर गया। लोमड़ी ने इसे उठाया और दौड़ गई। कौआ बहुत उदास था। यह पश्चाताप करने लगा। नैतिक शिक्षा : चापलूसी से दूर रहें।

He did the same thing daily. The man understood it. Next time, the man carried cotton. The donkey repeated the trick. The load was heavier. The donkey learnt a lesson. Moral : Tit for tat.

एक गधा तथा नमक का वजन -- एक बार एक व्यक्ति अपने गधे की पीठ पर नमक के बोरे ले जाता था। वे एक नदी को पार करते थे। एक बार गधा फिसल गया। नमक जल में घुल गया। गधा बहुत प्रसन्न था। गधा प्रतिदिन ऐसा ही करने लगा। वह व्यक्ति इसको (चाल को) समझ गया। अगली बार, वह व्यक्ति रुई ले गया। गधे ने उस चाल को दोहराया। वजन और बढ़ गया। गधे ने सबक सीखा। नैतिक शिक्षा : जैसे को तैसा।
