Process (a series of actions) 

• जब हम किसी घटना या वृत्तान्त का वर्णन करना चाहते हैं तब हम उस वस्तु या बात के सन्दर्भ में अपना अनुभव दुहराने का प्रयास करते हैं ।
• हमारा वर्णन बहुत ही ठोस, क्रमिक व स्पष्ट होना चाहिये । 
• उस वर्णन की सबसे महत्वपूर्ण व आवश्यक विशेषता होनी चाहिये कि हमने जो कुछ भी अनुभव किया या देखा वह एकदम सटीक व संक्षिप्त रूप में हम अपने पाठकों तक पहुँचाएँ । 
• वास्तविक वर्णन बहुत अधिक लम्बा नहीं होना चाहिये ।
• एक अच्छा वर्णन पाठक पर एक निश्चित व इच्छित (desired) छाप छोड़ने वाला होना चाहिये ।
• हमें अपने विचार को प्रस्तुत करने हेतु सरल, स्पष्ट, ठोस (सारगर्भित) व सटीक शब्दों का उपयोग करना चाहिये।

How To Prepare Tea 

It is very simple to prepare a cup of tea. Even a child can make a cup of tea. But one who knows the art to prepare a good and tasty tea is regarded as an expert cook. First, we take a kettle and put water according to our requirement. We put kettle on the stove to boil for some time.

Then we put tea-leaves into the boiled water. After that we put some sugar into the kettle and wait for two or three minutes. We stir the whole mixture with a spoon and it will give a good colour. Now a good and tasty tea is ready. After that we add some milk according to the taste and enjoy it. 

एक कप चाय बनाना बहुत ही आसान है । यहाँ तक कि एक बच्चा भी चाय बना सकता है । लेकिन जो व्यक्ति अच्छी व स्वादिष्ट चाय बनाने की कला जानता है, वह एक अच्छा बावर्ची माना जाता है । सबसे पहले हम एक केतली लेंगे फिर उसमें अपनी आवश्यकतानुसार पानी डालेंगे। अब पानी को उबलने के लिये स्टोव पर कुछ देर के लिये रखेंगे ।

उसके बाद उबलते हुए पानी में चाय-पत्ती डालेंगे । उसके बाद केतली में कुछ शक्कर डालेंगे और दो, तीन मिनट तक इन्तजार करेंगे । सारे मिश्रण को चम्मच की सहायता से चलायेंगे (हिलायेंगे) और इसमें बढ़िया रंग आने लगेगा । और अब एक बढ़िया और स्वादिष्ट चाय तैयार है । इसके बाद इसमें कुछ दूध स्वादानुसार मिलायेंगे और उसका आनन्द लेंगे।

Describe the process of 'Repairing a Puncture' with the help of the following hints : 

How To Repair A Puncture 

First, we take out the tube from inside the tyre. We fill air with a pump in it. Then we dip it in a water-vesel. Water-bubbles appear at the place from where the tube is punctured. After that we put a circle round the puncture by a pencil and rub it with a sand paper.

After that we apply some rubber solution on the punctured part and take sometime to dry it. Now we take another round piece of rubber and rub it with the sand paper. We apply rubber solution on it. Now this piece of the rubber is stuck on the punctured part and put it under some weight for some time. Thus, the tube is repaired.

सबसे पहले हम टायर के अन्दर से ट्यूब को बाहर निकालते हैं हम पम्प से इसमें हवा भरते हैं । तब हम इसे पानी भरे एक बर्तन में डुबा देते हैं । ट्यूब में जहाँ पर पंक्चर होता है वहाँ से पानी के बबूले उठने लगते हैं । फिर उस पंक्चर के चारों ओर हम पैन्सिल से एक गोला बना देते हैं और इसे Sand paper से घिसते (रगड़ते) हैं ।

उसके बाद हम कुछ रबर solution पंक्चर वाले स्थान पर लगा देते हैं और कुछ देर तक सूखने देते हैं । अब हम एक गोल रबड़ का टुकड़ा लेते हैं और इसे भी Sand paper से घिसते हैं । हम इस पर रबर सोल्यूशन लगाते हैं । अब इस रबड़ के गोल टुकड़े को पंक्चर वाले स्थान पर चिपका देते हैं और कुछ देर के लिये उसे दबा देते हैं । इस प्रकार से ट्यूब की मरम्मत की जाती है ।

Question 3. 
Describe the process of 'Washing Clothes'with the help of the following hints : 

How To Wash Clothes 

First, we collect all the dirty clothes to be washed. Then we separate the cotton clothes from the clothes that are made of synthetic fibre. Besides, we separate white clothes from coloured clothes. Now we take a bucket full of water and mix some good quality detergent powder in that bucket. After that we whisk it well so that the detergent powder may dissolve well. Then we dip the clothes one by one and leave them in the bucket for about half an hour.

We shake the clothes well in the solution and rub the clothes properly. Now we rinse the clothes two or three times in clean water in other bucket. We repeat this process till the powder is out of the clothes. Finally, we wring the clothes to bring the water out of them and hang them on the washing line to dry up.

सबसे पहले हम धोने के सारे गन्दे कपडे एकत्रित कर लेते हैं। फिर हम सती व रेशमी वस्त्रों को अलग-अलग करते हैं । उसके बाद हम सफेद वस्त्रों को रंगीन वस्त्रों से अलग कर लेते हैं । अब हम एक पानी से भरी बाल्टी लेंगे उसमें अच्छा वाला कपड़े धोने का डिटरजेन्ट पाउडर उस बाल्टी में डालेंगे । अब इस घोल को अच्छी तरह चलायेंगे जिससे कि डिटरजेन्ट पाउडर पूरी तरह पानी में घुल जाये । अब हम बाल्टी में एक-एक करके सभी कपड़े डालेंगे

और आधा घण्टे के लिए उन्हें बाल्टी में छोड़ देंगे । हम कपड़ों को घोल में अच्छी तरह से हिलायेंगे और अच्छी तरह रगड़ेंगे । अब दूसरी बाल्टी में साफ पानी में दो या तीन बार कपड़ों को डालकर खंगालेंगे । यह प्रक्रिया हम तब तक दुहरायेंगे जब तक कि कपड़ों से पाउडर पूरी तरह न निकल जाये । अन्त में, कपड़ों से पानी को निचोड़ देंगे और कपड़े सुखाने वाले स्थान पर उन्हें सूखने के लिये डाल देंगे ।

Describe the process of 'Taking a Photograph' with the help of the following hints : 

How To Take A Photograph 

It is a great art to take a charming and attractive photograph with a camera. It requires great skill. When we take a photograph, we should be careful. A slight carelessness may spoil the photograph. First, we load the film in the camera. We should take care to avoid any exposure to light. After that we should observe the right distance and direction of the light.

Now we focus the lens on the person or the object to be photographed. But we should remember one thing that the camera does not face the sun or any other source of light. When we satisfy ourselves with everything, we should remove the shutter cap and release the shutter. After taking the photograph, we change the number of the film for the next.

एक कैमरे से खूबसूरत व आकर्षक फोटो खींचना एक कला है । उसके लिए बड़े कौशल (skill) की आवश्यकता होती है । फोटोग्राफ लेते समय हमें बहुत सावधान रहना चाहिये । एक छोटी सी लापरवाही फोटोग्राफ को खराब कर सकती है। सबसे पहले हम रील (Film) को कैमरे में डालते हैं । रोशनी से film को बचाने के लिये हमें सावधानी बरतनी चाहिये । उसके बाद हमें सही दूरी तथा प्रकाश की सही दिशा का ध्यान रखना चाहिये ।

अब हम उस व्यक्ति या वस्तु पर कैमरा केन्द्रित करते हैं जिसका फोटो हमें लेना है । लेकिन हमें इस बात का ध्यान रखना चाहिये कि कैमरे के सीधे सामने सूर्य या रोशनी का अन्य स्रोत (Light) न पड़े । जब हम प्रत्येक बात से संतुष्ट हों तब हमें कैमरे का रबर वाला ढक्कन हटा देना चाहिये और हमें फोटो खींच लेना चाहिये । फोटो लेने के बाद फोटो लेने के लिये बटन को घुमाकर film का नम्बर बदल (आगे बढ़ाना) देना चाहिये ।

Describe the process of 'Making Omelette' with the help of the following hints : 

How To Make Omelette 

It is very easy to make an omelette. First, we take eggs according to the requirement. Then we break them into a basin and beat them well. After that we add some salt according to our taste. Besides, we add some pieces of onion, ginger and green chillies. Then we pour two or three spoonful of butter or refined oil into the pan and keep it on the stove to heat.

Now we pour the mixture of the eggs into the pan and keep the pan for about a minute over the full flame. After that we keep on tilting the pan from side to side so that mixture may assume the shape of a flat round piece. Now we wait to cook the omelette properly. Thus, a good and tasty omelette is ready. 

ऑमलेट बनाना बहुत ही आसान है । सबसे पहले हम आवश्यकतानुसार अण्डे लेंगे । फिर हम उन अण्डों को एक बर्तन में तोड़ते हैं और अच्छी तरह फेंटते हैं । उसके बाद उसमें स्वादानुसार नमक डालते हैं । इसके अलावा कुछ टुकड़े प्याज के, अदरक के और हरी मिर्च के डालते हैं । फिर हम दो या तीन चम्मच मक्खन या रिफाइन्ड ऑयल के लेकर पैन (तलने वाले बर्तन) में डालते हैं और गर्म करने के लिये स्टोव पर रखते हैं ।

अब हम अण्डे के मिश्रण को तलने वाले बर्तन में डालते हैं और तेज आँच पर लगभग एक मिनिट के लिये रहने देते हैं । इसके बाद हम तलने वाले बर्तन को धीरे-धीरे थोड़ा इधर-उधर झुकाते हैं ताकि मिश्रण गोलाकार ऑमलेट के आकार में आ जाये । अब हम ऑमलेट के अच्छी तरह पकने तक इन्तजार करते हैं । इस प्रकार से एक अच्छा और स्वादिष्ट ऑमलेट तैयार है ।

Describe the process of 'Opening a Bank Account' with the help of the following hints : 

How To Open A Bank Account 

We see many people confused when they enter the bank to open their account. But to open an account with the bank is not the matter of trouble and difficulty. To open an account with any bank we have to go to the counter from where we get the relevant form. We fill the form carefully and paste two passport size photos on the space right in the corner of the form.

Now we need an account holder of the bank to introduce us. Besides, we will have to put our three specimen signatures on the signature card. We have to submit Aadhar-card and proof of residence. Then we go to the deposit counter and deposit the money and collect our pass-book Thus, we complete the process of opening a bank account. 

हम देखते हैं कि बहुत से लोग जब अपना खाता खोलने बैंक में प्रवेश करते हैं तो असमंजस की स्थिति में होते हैं । लेकिन बैंक में खाता खोलना मुश्किल या कठिन कार्य नहीं है । हमें उस काउंटर पर जाना होता है जहाँ से हम सम्बन्धित फार्म लेते हैं । हम फार्म को सावधानीपूर्वक भरते हैं फिर दायीं तरफ के कोने में फोटो चिपकाने के स्थान पर दो पासपोर्ट आकार के फोटो चिपका देते हैं ।

अब हमें एक ऐसे व्यक्ति की आवश्यकता होती है जिसका उस बैंक में खाता होता है जो हमें फार्म में introduce कर सके । इसके बाद, हस्ताक्षर कार्ड में हमें अपने नमूने के तौर पर तीन हस्ताक्षर करने होते हैं । हमें आधार कार्ड व निवास का प्रमाण प्रस्तुत करना होता है । तब हम फार्म जमा करने वाली खिड़की पर जाते हैं और पैसा जमा करके (फार्म के साथ) पासबुक ले लेते हैं । इस तरह से बैंक में खाता खोलने की प्रक्रिया हम पूरी कर देते हैं ।

Describe the process of 'Planting a Sapling' with the help of the following hints :

How To Plant A Sapling 

It is not very difficult to plant a sapling. We should have only a bit of knowledge of gardening. The best season of planting sapling is the rainy season. For planting a sapling, we need a small piece of land which should be dug out properly. We need some dung to mix into the soil. We should remember that a little watering of the soil makes it softer and absorbing to the roots of the sapling.

Now we dig a deep hole and put the roots of the sapling into the hole and adjust the stem in the centre. Then we level the earth around it and water it a little. Thus, the process of planting a sapling is complete.

पौधा लगाना कठिन कार्य नहीं है । हमें सिर्फ बागवानी की थोड़ी-सी जानकारी होनी चाहिये । पौधा रोपण का सबसे बढ़िया समय है वर्षा ऋतु । पौधा रोपण के लिये हमें छोटी-सी जमीन चाहिये होती है जो अच्छी तरह खुदी हुई हो । मिट्टी में मिलाने के लिये हमें थोड़े से गोबर की आवश्यकता होती है ।

हमें याद रखना चाहिये कि मिट्टी में थोड़ा-सा पानी इसे मुलायम व पौधे की जड़ों को अवशोषण योग्य बनाता है । अब हम एक गहरा गड्ढा खोदते हैं और उस गड्ढे के बीच में पौधे को गाढ़ देते हैं । फिर इसके चारों ओर की मिट्टी को एक समान कर देते हैं और थोड़ा-सा पानी डाल देते हैं । इस तरह, पौधे को रोपने (लगाने) की प्रक्रिया पूरी हो जाती है ।

Admission To A School 

In this modern world, to get admission in a school is very difficult. Perhaps it is more difficult than to get a job. Generally, most of the schools advertise in the newspapers regarding their admission schedule. Prospectus can be taken from the office of the school. Forms should be completed by candidate. Incomplete forms are likely to be rejected. Different schools have different rules of selection. Some have competitive test for selection. Then they are called for an interview. If the admission board is satisfied with the performance of the student, he is allowed to take admission. 

इस आधुनिक समय में स्कूल में दाखिला लेना बेहद कठिन कार्य है । शायद यह एक नौकरी पाने से भी ज्यादा कठिन है । सामान्यतः, ज्यादातर स्कूल अपने यहाँ दाखिले सम्बन्धी जानकारी समाचार पत्रों में प्रकाशित कराते हैं । प्रास्पैक्टस स्कूल के कार्यालय से लिया जा सकता है । दाखिले का फार्म उम्मीदवार द्वारा भरा जाना चाहिये । अपूर्ण रूप से भरे हुए आवेदन पत्र सम्भवतः अस्वीकार कर दिये जाते हैं । विभिन्न स्कूलों में चयन प्रक्रिया भिन्न होती है । कुछ चयन के लिये प्रतियोगी (प्रवेश परीक्षा) परीक्षा का आयोजन करते हैं । फिर उन्हें साक्षात्कार हेतु बुलाया जाता है । यदि दाखिला चयन समिति विद्यार्थी की प्रस्तुति से संतुष्ट होते हैं तो उसे दाखिला लेने की अनुमति दे दी जाती है ।

Describe the process of 'Borrowing a Book' from your school library with the help of the following hints :

How To Borrow A Book From The Library 

 Library is regarded as the centre of knowledge. Every school has a library. It is the place where books on different subjects are kept. Every student is to be issued library card. Generally, a book is issued only for a week. If the book is not deposited within the time, student is fined. Sometimes, book is issued on demand.

The library has a catalogue of all books and books of all subjects are arranged in an alphabetical order. The student, who wants to borrow a book, writes the number of book, its title and then presents the slip to the librarian. The book is only issued when it is available in the library. You will have to return it in a week.
 
पुस्तकालय ज्ञान का केन्द्र समझा जाता है । प्रत्येक स्कूल में एक पुस्तकालय होता है । यह वह स्थान होता है जहाँ विभिन्न विषयों से सम्बन्धित पुस्तकें रखी जाती हैं । प्रत्येक विद्यार्थी को एक पुस्तकालय कार्ड दिया जाता है । सामान्यतः, एक पुस्तक एक सप्ताह के लिये दी जाती है । यदि पुस्तक उस समयावधि में जमा नहीं की जाती है, तो विद्यार्थी को जुर्माना देना पड़ता है ।

कभी-कभी, पुस्तक माँग पर दी जाती है । पुस्तकालय में एक पुस्तकसूची होती है तथा सारे विषयों की पुस्तकें वर्णमाला क्रम में व्यवस्थित होती हैं । जो विद्यार्थी, पुस्तक लेना चाहता है, उसे पुस्तक का नम्बर, शीर्षक, एक पर्ची पर लिखकर पुस्तकालय अध्यक्ष को देनी होती है । यदि वह पुस्तक पुस्तकालय में उपलब्ध होती है तो उसे जारी कर दी जाती है । आपको इसे एक सप्ताह में लौटाना होगा ।

One day your principal asked all the students of your class to clean up and whitewash the classrooms themselves. Describe with the help of the following hints how you did your job with the help of your class-mates.

When We Cleaned And Whitewashed The Classroom 

One day the Principal of our school called a meeting in which all the teachers and students were present. He told us about the annual inspection of school building and asked the students to help in the clean up and whitewash the school building. All the students promised him their full co-operation. First, we removed all the furniture from the classrooms then we swept them with the broom.

Some of the students dusted the furniture, doors and windows. After that we whitewashed the rooms. When we whitewashed the rooms, we cleaned and washed the floor and arranged the furniture again. We were given certificate for good work when the Principal inspected the rooms. 

एक दिन हमारे स्कूल के प्रधानाचार्य ने एक मीटिंग (सभा) बुलाई जिसमें सभी टीचर्स व विद्यार्थी शामिल हुए । उन्होंने हमें स्कूल के वार्षिक निरीक्षण के बारे में बताया और विद्यार्थियों को स्कूल की इमारत को साफ करने व सफेदी करने में सहायता करने को कहा । सभी विद्यार्थियों ने उन्हें पूरा सहयोग देने का वादा किया ।

सबसे पहले, हमने कक्षा का सारा फर्नीचर बाहर निकाला फिर हमने उसे झाडू से साफ किया । कुछ विद्यार्थियों ने फर्नीचर, दरवाजे व खिड़कियों की सफाई की । उसके बाद हमने कमरे की पुताई की । जब हमने पुताई कर दी तब हमने फर्श की सफाई की और धोया और फर्नीचर को वापिस लगा दिया । जब प्रधानाचार्य ने कक्षा का निरीक्षण किया तब हमें अच्छे कार्य के लिये प्रमाण पत्र दिया गया ।

How To Apply For A Bus Pass 

It is very simple to apply for a Bus Pass. In a metropolitan city people have to travel long distances to reach their place of work or other places. Most of them cannot afford to hire a taxi, so they have to travel by buses. First of all we have to get a printed application form from the department. Then we fill it up and sign it, then we have to hand it over to the clerk concerned for inspection. The clerk gets it countersigned by his officer. Then we have to deposit the due amount and get the bus pass for the place we have applied for. Our Bus Pass is ready. 

बस पास हेतु आवेदन करना एकदम आसान है । महानगरों में लोगों को अपने दफ्तर व अन्य स्थानों पर जाने के लिये लम्बी दूरी की यात्रा करनी पड़ती है। उनमें से अधिकांश लोग प्राइवेट टैक्सी का खर्च नहीं उठा सकते हैं इसलिये उन्हें बस से यात्रा करनी पड़ती है। सबसे पहले हमें सम्बन्धित विभाग से छपा हुआ आवेदन पत्र लेना होता है । फिर हम इसे भरते हैं और हस्ताक्षर कर देते हैं, फिर हम सम्बन्धित क्लर्क के पास इसे निरीक्षण हेतु जमा कर देते हैं । क्लर्क अपने अफसर से इस फार्म पर प्रति हस्ताक्षर करवाता है। फिर हम निश्चित धनराशि जमा कर देते हैं और बदले में हमें उस स्थान तक का बस पास मिल जाता है जहाँ के लिये हमने आवेदन किया था । हमारा बस पास तैयार है।

Crossing A Busy Road 

Most of us think that crossing a busy road is the easiest thing in the world. No, if we think so, we are absolutely wrong. Every year hundreds of people are killed in road accidents because they do not observe the rules of the road. Most of them are pedestrians who are crushed under some vehicle while crossing a busy road.

While crossing a busy road, one should look to the signal lights, and cross the road only when the signal says 'Go'. If there is no arrangement of signal lights on the road, one should look to the left and right sight before crossing the road. In case the road is not clear, one should wait. This is the safest way of crossing a busy road.

हममें से बहुत से लोग सोचते हैं कि व्यस्त सड़क को पार करना दुनिया का सबसे आसान कार्य है । नहीं, यदि हम ऐसा सोचते हैं तो हम एकदम गलत है । प्रत्येक वर्ष सैकड़ों लोग सड़क दुघर्टनाओं में मारे जाते हैं क्योंकि वे सड़क के नियमों का पालन नहीं करते हैं । जो लोग व्यस्त सड़क पर किसी न किसी वाहन से मारे जाते हैं उनमें से अधिकांश लोग पदयात्री होते हैं । व्यस्त सड़क को पार करते समय, व्यक्ति को signal light को देखना चाहिये और तभी सड़क पार करनी चाहिये जब चिन्ह दर्शाता है Go (जाओ) । यदि सड़क पर signal light की व्यवस्था नहीं हो तो सड़क पार करने से पहले व्यक्ति को दायीं ओर फिर बायीं देख लेना चाहिये । यदि सड़क खाली नहीं हो तब व्यक्ति को इंतजार करना चाहिये । यही है एक व्यस्त सड़क पार करने का सबसे सुरक्षित तरीका ।

Reservation makes our journey comfortable. But when it comes to getting a reservation done, many of us get confused. They don't know how to get a seat reserved on a train. Describe with the help of the following hints the process of getting a seat reserved on a train.

How To Get Reservation In A Train 

Getting reservation on a train is not a difficult job at all. We go to the railway station and fill up the form. The number and name of the train, the journey date, the station upto which the reservation is desired, the name of the passenger with his/her age and gender, all these details are to be filled in the specified columns.

Then we submit the form to the clerk at the reservation window. Then he checks the reservation details and availability of the seat on his computer. If the seat is available, he will get our form submitted. Then we deposit the required amount to the clerk. And he will issue the ticket to us.

ट्रेन में आरक्षण कराना बिल्कुल भी मुश्किल कार्य नहीं है । हम रेलवे स्टेशन जाते हैं और आरक्षण फार्म भरते हैं । इसमें निश्चित स्थान पर ट्रेन का नम्बर व नाम, यात्रा की तारीख, जिस स्टेशन तक यात्रा करनी है उसका नाम, यात्री का नाम उसकी उम्र, लिंग आदि भरना होता है । फिर हम इस फार्म को आरक्षण खिड़की पर क्लर्क को दे देते हैं । क्लर्क आरक्षण सम्बन्धी विवरण तथा सीट की उपलब्धता को अपने कम्प्यूटर पर देखता है। यदि सीट उपलब्ध होती है, तो वह हमारा फार्म जमा कर लेता है । तब हम आवश्यक धनराशि क्लर्क को जमा कर देते हैं । वह हमें टिकिट दे देता है ।
