Last week I visited Chittorgarh with some of my class fellows. We hired a guide. He told us that the fort was constructed by a Maurya ruler, Chitranged in the 7th century. There are seven gates to enter the fort. The name of the first gate is Padan Pole. There we visited Vijaya Stambh (Victory Tower). It is a nine storeyed tower. It was built by Rana Kumbha to commemorate his victory over muslim rules of Malwa and Gujrat. Next we saw the Kirti Stambha, the Rana Kumbha palace, the Fateh Prakash, the Kalika Mata Temple, the Padmini Palace, the deer park and other places. There are a lot of ponds, kunds and waterfalls in the fort. We enjoyed the trip very much.
