Yes, they all are associated with health. Health and well being of a person is directly affected by the availability of clean drinking water, nutritional diet, clean surroundings, hygiene, availability of hospitals and treatment facilities, ambulance services for timely treatment, medical specialisation, housing, etc.

Although both the; pictures are not related with illness, but their quality, quantity and availability affects the health of people. It’s important for'human beings to have access to safe clean drinking water.
Also water should be easily available. Otherwise it creates hardships for rural women who need to walk far away to fetch water. Similarly, healthy and nutritional diet and regular meals are equally important for human beings to stay healthy .

In India, it is often said that we are unable to provide health services for all because the government does not have enough money and facilities. After reading the above left hand column, (table on page no. 20) do you think this is true? Discuss.
Answer: 
Although government has enough money and facilities but then also the government is unable to provide equal facilities to all because there is lacking in implementation and checking. Government is unable to check on the doctors who are appointed in rural areas, due to this the doctors do not go to hospitals regularly and remain absent. The government still needs to make effective policies regargding controlling over some major disease e.g., tuberculosis. Providing dean drinking water is again a big task because even today 21% of all communicable diseases are water borne, e.g., diarrhoea, worms, hepatitis, etc. Half of all children in India do not get adequate food to eat and are undernourished.

Answer: 
If I was a judge, I would also have held 
the government responsible for being unable to provide timely treatment to a person in an emergency situation. I would have supported Hakim Seikh as he was denied treatment at various government hospitals. I would have asked the state government to give him the money that he had spent on his treatment.

  2. As far as possible, every doctor should write the generic name of the medicines for treatment and ensure that it is in an appropriate form.
  3. There should be government control over private hospitals in such a way that use only affordable methods of treatment.

Improvement in water and sanitation can control many diseases. Explain with the help of examples.
Answer: 
Contaminated water causes various diseases and poor sanitation is responsible for most of the communicable diseases. For example, diarrhea, jaundice, cholera, etc. occur due to contaminated food and water.
Clean and safe drinking water and clean surroundings control the virus from spreading. By ensuring this, diseases can be prevented. For example:

  1. Government should check the quality of water provided at regular intervals.
  2. There should be proper check on sewerage treatment and water disposal.
