Question 1.
Explain the starch test method.
Answer:
Starch-test method –
Experiment Take two test tubes mark 1 and 2 on it. Now take a boiled potato. prepare paste of it and put into a test tube no. 1 Add some water and shake the mixture. In test tube no. 2 add sonic plain water only. No put don two drops of iodine solution in both the test tubes carefully. Shake and observe. We observed that test tube no. 1 potato mixed solution turns blue while test tube no. 2 containing plain water shows no change. Conclusion – On the basis of above test we conclude that starch gives blue colour by reacting with iodine solution.

Question 2.
How do you detect about the presence of proteins in food items ?
Answer:
Protein test Method – Experiment.
First of all take thick aqueous solution of gram flour in a clean test tube. Add 2-3 drops of copper sulphate (CuSO4) and 10 – 12 drops of caustic soda and shake well. After some time observe the test tube We see that the colour of the mixture turned purple.

Conclusion –
Proteins react with CuSO4 and caustic soda than converts into purple solution. It proves that the protein component is present in gram flour.

Solid fat is called charbi and liquid fat is called oily fat in our body, Fat consists carbon. hydrogen and oxygen elements.

Answer:
Take two white blank papers. Put small amount of butter on first paper and on another paper put 2-3 drops of water. Leave both the papers open for some time, After some time on observing we found that on the first paper oil spread more and the paper became sleek as well as translucent when put across the sun. On the second paper water dried up and there was no change. Based on this experiment e can conclude that fat is smooth and oily.
