How many 6 digit numbers are there in all?
Answer:
The largest 6 digit number = 999999
The smallest 6 digit number = 100000
Therefore, total number of 6 digit numbers = (999999 - 100000) + 1 
= 899999 + 1 
= 9,00,000
= 9 lakh

Population of Sundra Nagar was 2,35,471 in the year 1991. In the year 2001, it was found to have increased by 72,958. How was the population of the city in 2001?
Answer:
The population of Sundra Nagar in 2001
= Population in 1991 + Increase in population
= 2,35,471 + 72,958
∴ Population in 2001 = 3,08,429

Question 3.
The town newspaper is published every day. One copy has 12 pages. Ev,ery day 11,980 copies are printed. How many pages in all are printed every day and every month?
Answer:
Number of pages in 1 copy of newspaper = 12
No. of pages in 11,980 copies of newspaper = 11,980 × 12
= 1,43,760

A vessel has 4 litre 650 mL of curd. In how many glasses, each of 25 mL capacity, can it be distributed?
Answer:
Total amount of curd = 4 litre 650 mL = 4 × 1000 + 650 mL = 4650 mL.
The number of glasses in which curd can be distributed
= \(\frac{\text { Total amount of curd }}{\text { Capacity of each glass }}=\frac{4,650 \mathrm{~mL}}{25 \mathrm{~mL}}\) = 186
Therefore, number of glasses in which curd can be distributed = 186
