RBSE Class 6 English Vocabulary prefix

किसी शब्द के आरम्भ में लगा वह अक्षर या अक्षर समूह जिससे शब्द का अर्थ बदल जाता है उसे prefix या पूर्व सर्ग कहा जाता है। उदाहरण के लिए un शब्द को अगर do के साथ लगा दें तो वह undo हो जाएगा। जिसका अर्थ मिटाना हो जाता है।

इसी प्रकार
un + usual = unusual 
un + equal = unequal 
un + important = unimportant 

कुछ अन्य महत्त्वपूर्ण prefix निम्न प्रकार से हैं

1. pre:
pre + fix = prefix 
pre + history = prehistory 

2. mis:
mis + lead = mislead 
mis + place = misplace

3. in :
in + action = inaction
in + visible = invisible 

4. im :
im + possible = impossible 
im + proper = improper 

5. dis :
dis + agree = disagree 
dis + agreement = disagreement 
dis + miss = dismiss 
dis + locate = dislocate 

6. non :
non + sense = nonsense
non + fiction = nonfiction 

7. de :
de + crease = decrease 
de + code = decode
